Quilter and maker of wearable art, Jenny Lyon channels her garment background to create a high-fashion cutwork scarf. Fiber artist Lisa Walton makes an original art quilt using fused fabrics and free-hand cutting techniques. D

Paint This With Jerry Yarnell  "Powerful, Proud, and Free, Part 1"  Acrylic Medium on 18x24 stretched canvas. In this opening segment, Jerry talks about the historical signature of this painting. Then shows how to use multiple pieces of reference material to create a well-balanced composition using all the technical elements of composition. D

She runs the sprawling operations of the various Dos Caminos spots here and in Las Vegas. Though known for their volume, under her stewardship they do a remarkable amount of quality work from scratch.G

Globe Trekker  "Tough Boats: The Amazon"  On a remarkable 250-mile, three-day journey through a remote rainforest, Holly Morris travels by cargo boat down one stretch of the Amazon in Peru. Sleeping in a hammock at night, she shares deck space with over 200 local Peruvians and countless boxes of vegetables and fruit, heading to the largest city in the Peruvian Amazon, Iquitos. Here, she explores the history of this unique and remarkable city before moving on to her second destination, the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. D

Lidia's Kitchen  "Crazy for Mushrooms"  Lidia loves earthy, delicious mushrooms and today shares some of her favorite mushroom recipes that she has prepared over the years. She also makes funghi marinati, marinated button mushrooms in a flavorful mix of rosemary, orange and garlic. D

Simply Ming  "Jacques Pepin"  The legendary Jacques Pepin, who is best-known for his PBS cooking series as well as his history of cooking with Julia Child, keeps things fun and simple this week. Jacques and his granddaughter Shorey swing by Ming's loft to make curly dogs with pickle relish, mayogrette dressing and potato salad. Ming cooks up some quick Chinese sausage buns. D

Lucky Chow  "Trending Japanese"  Japan has mesmerized American foodies for generations and a new wave of Japanese culinary culture continues to intoxicate us. Exploring American manifestations of otaku, the Japanese trope that combines cutting-edge pop culture with fetishistic obsession, Danielle visits New York's first cat cafe; a Brooklyn izakaya run by a Frenchman in thrall to Japanese anime and manga; and a California suburban mom who's a star on the international bento-box circuit. On a more traditional note, Danielle gets in the sumo ring with a 600-pound opponent and then helps him make chanko nabe, the sumo wrestler's staple meal. D

Connect with English  "Bad News/Brothers"  Rebecca and Kevin's father has had a second heart attack and they call their father's estranged brother, Brendan, who lives in Illinois who arrives and reconciles with his brother just before he dies.G
