Saving The Ocean
"Destination Baja"
On Mexico's Baja peninsula, local fishing people developed a whale-watching co-op that now draws tourists from across the world. The co-op runs the tourist accommodations, polices the lagoon, regulates access to the whales and preserves most of the area as a quiet sanctuary for the whales and their calves. There also are now several other successful, self-regulated fishing co-ops along Baja's Pacific coast.G

Undamming The Elwha
The KCTS9/EarthFix documentary tells the story of the Elhwa River, once dammed, now set free, following the determination that two 100-year-old dams were failing. The film includes historical photos and footage as well as interviews with those involved in the construction, operation and removal of the lower dam, the largest dam ever to be removed in the United States. Some of the footage used in the film is supplied by IdahoPTV and EarthFix Idaho reporter Aaron Kunz.G
