With a keen intellect, sharp wit and a twinkle in his eye, Bert has been inspiring the people of Jackson Hole to observe and care about their wild neighbors for more than 40 years. In 1972, the couple retired to Jackson Hole and in 1976, Bert founded the Jackson Hole Bird Club and soon after began writing a weekly wildlife column for the Jackson Hole News. The couple also performed boots-on-the-ground restoration of habitats in Jackson Hole, which eventually led to the creation of the Meg and Bert Raynes Wildlife Fund.G
