Silent Night   On the Western Front in the first year of World War I, a miracle happened. The guns went silent. A Christmas Eve truce on December 24, 1914 allowed French, German and Scottish soldiers to lay down their arms and join in a spontaneous celebration reflecting the season. Composer's Kevin Puts' opera, which was awarded the 2012 Pulitzer Prize in Music, with a libretto by Mark Campbell is sung in French, English, German, Italian and Latin with English subtitles. The production was commissioned by the Minnesota Opera and is based on the Academy Award-nominated film Joyeux Noel.G
