Young hero Siegfried (Jay Hunter Morris), son of Siegmund and Sieglinde, grows up in the wilderness, raised by Alberich's conniving brother Mime. Siegfried puts together the broken pieces of his father's sword, Nothung, and uses it to slay the fearsome dragon Fafner, taking the ring for himself. To fulfill his destiny, he must overcome Wotan, now disguised as the Wanderer, and cross through the magic fire to awaken his true love, Br?nnhilde. Fabio Luisi conducts.G
