Growing a Greener World  "More Ways to Create an Eco-Friendly Landscape at Home"  Orlando, FL. - In the previous episode, we uncovered some of the most common "non-green" choices we all make when gardening, and offered some better choices and simple solutions. In this episode, we expand the discussion with ideas on conserving water, providing wildlife habitats, and reducing air pollution. D

Hands On Crafts for Kids  "Plants - True Plants - Fruits and Vegetables"  Today's show continues with another common way we see plants everyday - fruits and vegetables. Fruits are a part of the plant and the way that flowering plants spread seeds for new plants. Vegetables are actual parts of the plants - they can be the stem or stalk like celery, the leaves like lettuce, roots like carrots or bulb like an onion. D

Cuisine Culture  "Josiah Citrin, Los Angeles"  Two-Star Michelin chef Josiah Citrin takes us to Santa Monica's farmers market, where we try local and organic produce that go into his main course: a Liberty Duck Breast a l'Orange served with a colorful Blood Orange Reduction and Tender Baby Turnips. He then leads us to his renowned restaurant Melisse where he shows us the intricacies behind the appetizer: a Sweet Onion Parmesan Soup with Crabcake and Meyer Lemon. Perfect harmony is created with Warm Crispy Beignets served with Spiced Chocolate Sauce and Cream Gelato. D

Mexico -- One Plate at a Time with Rick Bayless  "Mexican Microbrews and Pub Fare"  Many of us experienced our first Mexican beer on a beach with a squeeze of lime. Now we're happy to see a beer revolution rumbling in the Baja peninsula. Rick takes us from the Tecate brewery, which started in 1944, to the Tijuana brewery, makers of several microbrews. D

Globe Trekker  "Papua New Guinea"  The trekkers explore New Britain Island, the largest in the Bismarck Archipelago of Papua New Guinea. The island's traditional cultures are diverse and complex but there are several ancient traditions that remain active today.G

The Victory Garden  "Edible"  Host Jamie Durie visits COPIA, the American Center for Food and Wine, where he tours the center's extensive vegetable gardens and orchards.G

The Woodwright's Shop  "Field Gate Hinges"  Master blacksmith Peter Ross turns his hammer to forging iron hinges for our oak field gate. We'll see how to shape and weld wrought iron for straps and pintles to make our gate swing true. D

Woodturning Workshop  "Postage Stamp Dispenser"  Speedy Delivery! Tim attempts to make paying bills an enjoyable experience for everyone, by showing how to turn Gothard Knutson's famous postage stamp dispenser. Never one to leave well enough alone Tim uses a threading system to mate the lid and body of the dispenser. D

Growing Bolder  "Living In Harmony"  Creating a Life of Exquisite Harmony - Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson's artwork is bright, cheerful, and whimsical, much like the artist herself. It consists of pieces of paper ripped apart and then reassembled into something more beautiful and more profound. D

Scheewe Art Workshop  "Rainbow Trout"  Join Sue as she creates a special project for a fisherman, the Rainbow Trout. Sue will show you how to create this fish on a variety of surfaces. A wonderful gift idea for a special person. D

Best of the Joy of Painting  "Mountain Rhapsody"  Splendid pastel colors and cozy wintry foliage make this Bob Ross mountain painting a real pleasure to behold. D

Burt Wolf: What We Eat  "How Sweet It Is: The Story of Sugar"  Sugar started out in Asia, traveled to the Middle East and then to Europe first as a medicine and then as a rare spice. During his second voyage in 1493, Columbus brought it to the Caribbean where it changed into a common necessity, became a key element in the Caribbean slave trade and an early example of capitalist manufacturing. We'll find out why people who had a sweet tooth had a better chance of surviving than people who didn't and how sugar became the basis for England's international trade, a key element in the control of Britain's working class, and an essential part of the temperance movement. D
