Beah, a former child soldier from Sierra Leone, writes about his harrowing experience and recovery in "A Long Way Gone". He talks with Franklin about why he wrote the book and how he thinks society can lessen the prevalence of child soldiers. He also answers allegations of inaccuracies in the book.G

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood  "Something Special for Dad/I Love You, Mom"  Something Special for Dad - Daniel notices how happy Dad is to have received a letter from Grandpere. Daniel really loves Dad, so he decides to send him a letter that will make him glad too. He goes to the Post Office with Mom, where he learns how letters are sorted and mailed. D

The techniques reveal how dust blown from the Sahara fertilizes the Amazon; how a submarine "waterfall" off Antarctica helps drive ocean currents; and how the sun's heating of the southern Atlantic gives birth to a powerful hurricane.G

The Desert Speaks  "On The Trail of a Living Fossil"  In an effort to discover more about the desert tortoise, host David Yetman treks from the dry deserts of Utah to the tropics of Northwestern Mexico in search of these special animals. The trail begins outside of St. George Utah, which has more tortoises there per square kilometer than anywhere else in the United States. D

She also makes a creamy blue cheese dressing - just the thing for drizzling onto a wedge of iceberg lettuce. D

Sesame Street  "Build A Better Basket"  Alan, Rosita, and Elmo are putting together a basket full of goodies for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandma's house. Red Riding Hood comes by ready to pick up the basket and asks if they tested it to make sure it was strong enough to stand up to the Big Bad Wolf. They agree to test the basket, and Alan holds it up saying, "I got a basket of goodies for you, Grandma. D

Dinosaur Train  "The Good Mom/Hornucopia"  The Good Mom - "Mom's" the word when Mrs. Pteranodon meets fellow mom Millie Maiasaura, who is a little too over-protective of her kids. The two moms compare mothering methods in a play date at the Big Pond. Hornucopia! - At the Big Pond, Tank introduces the Pteranodon family to his friend, Stacie Styracosaurus, a fellow Ceratopsian with a crown of elaborate horns on her head. D

Super Why!  "Hansel and Gretel: A Healthy Adventure"  The team convinces a witch to trade her gingerbread house for something delicious and nutritious.G

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Seasons - Spring and Summer/Seasons - Fall and Winter"  Seasons - Spring and Summer - For Show and Tell at school, Nick and Sally must bring something from their favourite season. But how can they choose which is their favourite? The Cat in the Hat takes them to the magical Garden of Seasons, where they can visit any season they like, any time they like! They meet three young animals and journey with them as they begin to grow up. Sally decides that she has two favourite seasons, and with the pictures taken from the Snaparama camera, she now has a scrapbook of pictures to show why! Seasons - Fall and Winter - It's Nick's turn to choose a favourite season. D

His Lemongrass-Coconut Chicken Soup is a perfect showcase for a tutorial on cooking with lemongrass. Black Bean Scallops and Zucchini is cooked in a wok and delicious with Ming's signature 50-50 rice. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Helsinki and Tallinn: Baltic Sisters"  Rick explores the capitals of Finland and Estonia to sample each country's history, art and distinct love of life. In Helsinki, he finds a neoclassical old town, modern flair for design and steamy saunas. Tallinn offers medieval charms and new-found prosperity.G
