World Peace and Other 4th Grade Achievements   WORLD PEACE AND OTHER 4TH GRADE ACHIEVEMENTS interweaves the story of a remarkable educator and the extraordinary game he developed to demonstrate the complexities of peace and global conflict. Teacher John Hunter's World Peace Game is a hands-on political simulation exercise in which students tackle real-world military, economic and environmental issues. The nine- and 10-year-olds divide into groups, including nation states, the World Bank, United Nations officials, indigenous peoples and even arms dealers. D

Outdoor Idaho  "Back to the Past"  There is a bright future in the past whether the Middle Ages, the era of the mountain men, the American Civil War, or just spending time at the genealogy library. This program meets re-enactors and others who touch the past by dressing in its costumes, learning its skills, researching its people, digging into forgotten historical sites, restoring building and growing heirloom plants. They reach for the past and help bring it alive in the present.G

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood  "Daniel Visits School/Daniel Visits The Doctor"  Daniel Visits School - Daniel is visiting school for the first time and he's a little nervous until he learns that asking questions so that he knows what to expect is the best way to handle the anxiety that comes with new experiences. Daniel Visits the Doctor - Daniel is going to Dr. Anna for his checkup - but he is very anxious! Mom Tiger teaches him that talking about the situation will help him feel calmer, so Daniel makes a book with all the information he knows about the doctor. D

Martha Speaks  "TD and the Steak Tree/TD and Martha Gopher Broke"  TD and the Steak Tree - TD gets hoodwinked by Weaselgraft and Pablum into buying a steak tree. TD and Martha Gopher Broke - Martha, TD, and TD's dad spend the weekend at CK's farm, trying to keep a gopher from eating all the crops.G

Smart Travels - Europe with Rudy Maxa  "Carcassonne and the Pyrenees"  From a fairy tale fortress to the gentle Pyrenees, Rudy takes in the castles and peaks of this magical region. We tour the largest fortress in Europe, Carcassonne, and sample the local stew, Cassoulet. A gallop through the countryside takes in several romantic castle ruins and the artwork of Toulouse Lautrec. The Desert Speaks  "Sea to Sky: Along An Incan Road"  Sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes are enigmatic remains of pre-Incan cultures, with vast rock art sites, colossal effigies etched into the nearly lifeless desert and burial sites that lay forgotten under the arid land for centuries. Examine these ruins and remains before venturing to the skies for a bird's-eye view of the famed Nazca lines. These mysterious drawings in the desert floor are astonishing in their creativity and size, with images of hummingbirds, monkeys and parrots hundreds of feet long and perfectly proportioned and geometric shapes that extend for miles. At the farm, Tanya and Lidia enjoy a classic, home-grown, Italian-American meal with the Maugeri family. Inspired by her visit to Pezzini Farms, Lidia makes an Artichoke Soup, followed by Stuffed Vegetables and a Radicchio, Goat Cheese, and Raisin Salad. D

Dinosaur Train  "The Old Bird/Diamond Don"  The Old Bird - Buddy, Tiny and Mom make a play date with Petey Peteinosaurus to ride the Dinosaur Train to meet Arlene Archeopteryx, a bird from the family of the oldest birds ever! The kids are excited to learn that Arlene is a bird and a dinosaur. Home With Shiny & Don - Shiny and Don stay at home and we get to see that just because they don't always ride with Buddy and Tiny on the Dinosaur Train doesn't mean that they are not having fun. An adventure into a local caves leads to a marvelous and brilliant discovery. D

Super Why!  "Hansel and Gretel: A Healthy Adventure"  The team convinces a witch to trade her gingerbread house for something delicious and nutritious.G

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Big Cats/Fantastic Flour"  Big Cats - When Sally and Nick have difficulty sneaking up on Nick's Mom to surprise her, The Cat brings them to meet some great sneaker-uppers - cats! Three big cats in particular. The kids learn to be patient from a snow leopard, speedy from a cheetah and the trick of distraction from a lion. Back in Nick's yard they sneak up on his mom and surprise her! Then Nick and Sally are surprised when the best sneaker-upper sneaks up on them - The Cat! Fantastic Flour - Nick and Sally are making their "Best Ever Yummy For Your Tummy" muffins when they realize they don't have enough flour. D
