The Desert Speaks  "Bolivia: Volcanoes, Flamingos, and Salt Lakes"  Ranging in altitude up to 16,500 feet above sea level, the wild, frigid desert of southwestern Bolivia is full of natural treasures. The harsh landscape is dominated by the towering Andean volcanoes and lakes or lagoons, which are actually basins, into which the meager snowmelt drains and cannot escape. These intensely colored, brackish lakes are home to some of the world's hardiest animals, namely three different species of flamingo. D

Dinosaur Train  "The Old Spinosaurus & The Sea/A Spiky Tail Tale"  The Old Spinosaurus & the Sea - Dad takes the kids on the Dinosaur Train to fish in a new place, where they meet a huge, grumpy old dinosaur, called a Spinosaurus, that doesn't want the kids in his Sea. Eventually the kids befriend him, and they teach each other their own unique way to catch fish. A Spiky Tail Tale - Buddy and Tiny help settle an argument between Morris Stegosaurus and Alvin Allosaurus, two very big dinosaurs - one with a very spiky tail, the other with a mouthful of sharp teeth. D

Super Why!  "Bedtime for Bear"  Baby Joy is afraid of the dark! To show her there's nothing to fear, Super Why and his literacy friends fly into Bedtime for Bear and meet Charlie - a bear who is scared of just about everything! The super readers shed a little light on the problem (literally) while Charlie discovers a bit more about the world outside his cozy cave. Educational Objectives: To experience a familiar bedtime routine. Preschoolers will practice the alphabet, rhyme with AR words, learn what the word "fireflies" means, and use the power to read to change the story. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Flight of the Penguin/Let's Go Fly A Kite"  Flight of the Penguin - Sally and Nick are pretending to fly in their backyard. Oh wouldn't it be great if they really could? The Cat in the Hat brings them to meet his good friend Percy the penguin. After a fun race with a penguin and a bird, the kids learn that not all birds fly, but that doesn't mean they aren't fast! Let's Go Fly a Kite - Sally, Nick and the Cat are trying to fly a kite, but there's not enough wind. D

Wild Kratts  "Bass Class"  Martin and Chris are in the middle of a friendly competition to find Small-mouth and Large-mouth Bass when they meet Wild Kratts Kid, Gavin, who is fishing. Before they can join him, Zach Varmitech arrives and challenges them to a fishing contest. The Wild Kratts team must use their knowledge of bass biology to win the tournament fair and square. D

Sara's Weeknight Meals  "Indian Comfort Food with Floyd Cardoz"  Newly crowned "Top Chef Masters" winner Floyd Cardoz joins Sara to cook the food he grew up with in India. First up is Wild Striped Bass Curry swimming in coconut and mild spices. Chicken Pilaf is simple but satisfying with a gingery yogurt sauce. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Italy's Amalfi Coast"  Rick visits the trendy resort of Positano on the Amalfi coastline, south of Naples. He also takes in the charms of Sorrento, the ancient Greek temples of Paestum, and the iridescent Blue Grotto beneath the Isle of Capri.G

Live from the Artists Den  "Iron and Wine"  On a chilly fall night, Atlanta's historic Buckhead Theatre hosted an unforgettable, marathon performance by Iron and Wine. The show was a sort of homecoming for frontman Sam Beam, who grew up a few hours from Atlanta, and he delivered a two-hour, 24-song set for the invitation-only audience of 500. The 11-piece band played virtually all of Iron and Wine's most recent album, "Kiss Each Other Clean," plus favorites like "Naked as We Came" and "Boy With a Coin," before Beam closed the remarkable night with a luminous solo version of the brand-new "Flightless Bird, American Mouth," from the "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" soundtrack. D
