His work as both an illustrator for Harper's Weekly and as a painter reveals an enormous amount about American life from before the outbreak of the Civil War, through the War itself and Post -War America up to 1880. Michael Graves: The Warehouse   The architect and designer opens the door to his private home in Princeton, New Jersey, which serves a a showpiece for Graves' interests and influences. The once derelict warehouse is now a living space, marrying the structure's original 1920s artisanal design with his personal touches. His private tour includes his cherished collections.G

Architect Michael Graves: A Grand Tour   Popularly known for the "whistling bird" Alessi teakettle, the architect transforms America's built environment in the 1980s with buildings that take a whimsical approach to classical forms. But in early 2003, a mysterious and potentially fatal illness leaves him partially paralyzed. His ordeal, which includes years of painful rehabilitation, opens a new chapter of Graves' career - designing hospital furniture and homes for wounded war veterans.G

Constitution USA with Peter Sagal  "Built to Last?"  In this last episode, Sagal travels to Iceland, where after the country's economic collapse, leaders decided to create a new constitution, looking to the U.S. Constitution for inspiration. This prompts Sagal to consider why our own founding document has lasted more than 225 years. D
