The film interweaves the stories of several students enrolled in the Mexican-American studies program at Tucson High School with interviews with teachers, parents and school officials. Also interviewed are some of the state legislators who supported legislation that has since ended the Tucson program.G

In this documentary, we explore the bonds of the father-daughter relationship and place themes of growing older, immigration and racism in the context of "living history." Paul Loong (American Legion member, retired Veterans Affairs doctor, practicing Catholic) talks of his experiences as a POW in Japan and his subsequent quest to become an American. D

Clues about his life, stories about his childhood and early days in the business can be found there - as well as in the expansive family albums and memorabilia. This is interspersed with original interviews with friends, colleagues, and his wives, as well as performers who appeared on the show.G
