And someone that really understands that notion is visiting today, it's Gabriela's Mom! Dr. Rosalinda Cordova is a marine biologist so she does lots of research on the computer, but it's not the only thing she uses. She tells the kids that when she does research, she reads books at the library, makes observations, asks experts, and looks at websites with good information. D

The Desert Speaks  "Bolivia: Volcanoes, Flamingos, and Salt Lakes"  Ranging in altitude up to 16,500 feet above sea level, the wild, frigid desert of southwestern Bolivia is full of natural treasures. The harsh landscape is dominated by the towering Andean volcanoes and lakes or lagoons, which are actually basins, into which the meager snowmelt drains and cannot escape. These intensely colored, brackish lakes are home to some of the world's hardiest animals, namely three different species of flamingo. D

Ciao Italia  "Fresh Ricotta/Ricotta Fresca"  Good friend an attorney Ciro Poppiti visits Mary Ann nella cucina, with an ample supply of freshly made ricotta from his company, "Arcangelo Cheese" in Wilmington, DE. They proceed to make a stupendous pastry-encased, Ricotta and Mozzarella cheese-stuffed masterpiece; Pizza Carnevale. Then Mary Ann takes up the baton and creates a light-as-a-cloud, orange-flavored Ricotta Cheesecake. D

Taste of History  "Benjamin Franklin - Science Superstar"  No other man of his time contributed more to our understanding of nature and science than Benjamin Franklin. And that's in addition to being one of the key Founding Fathers of our country. What a resume! In this episode, we salute Benjamin Franklin by preparing a favorite French dish of his, Vol au Vent with Sweetbreads, Beef and Pork Pie, and Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage. D

Simply Ming  "Bryan Caswell & Filleting Fish"  Do you know what to do when your kid or a friend brings you a whole fish? Well, Ming is going to show you how to break down that tasty fresh filet the right way! And waiting in the wings joining Ming, is Houston's Chef Bryan Caswell. Working together with the surprise catch of the day, and ingredients from Ming's pantry, they create two delicious dishes on the fly: Tea-Smoked Trout with Thai Cucumber Tomato Salad and Crispy-Skin Snapper with Fennel & Swiss Chard Agro Dolce. Austin City Limits  "Steve Martin/Sarah Jarosz"  Austin's own Jarosz, age 19, opens with her original bluegrass songs and is backed up by two equally talented teenage musicians. Comedian Steve Martin shows off his musicianship on the banjo. He appears with North Carolina's Steep Canyon Rangers; together they present much of the music and some of the jokes from the live show they toured the nation with in spring 2010.G

Sesame Street  "Falling Leaves"  It is a windy autumn day on Sesame Street, and Chris, Elmo, and Rosita hear Stinky calling from underneath a pile of leaves. They dig him out but he says that it will just happen again since he gets covered with leaves every single day. Rosita suggests that they try to figure out which tree the leaves are coming from by taking a leaf that fell on Stinky and comparing it to leaves on some of the surrounding trees to find a match. D

Dinosaur Train  "I'm A T. Rex!/Ned The Quadruped"  I'm a T. rex! - Buddy travels to Rexville on the Dinosaur Train and meets Delores Tyrannosaurus and her daughter Annie. When he sees that he shares all the same features, Buddy learns that he is a Tyrannosaurus rex! Ned the Quadruped - Buddy and Tiny tour the Dinosaur Train and earn their Junior Conductor hats while their friend Ned, a four-legged, long-necked Brachiosaurus and regular Train rider, tags along. D

Super Why!  "Princess Gwennie Saves The Day"  Princess Pea is feeling dramatic (as usual) and she and Red are staging a play. Princess is pretending she's a queen but Red doesn't know what to be! The super readers fly into the story of a princess with a silly sense of humor and a big job to do. They help Gwennie use her talents to save the day, and Red discovers her own special gifts. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Help with Kelp/Treetop Tom"  Help With Kelp - It's Fish's birthday and Nick and Sally want to get him a special present, but who can they ask for ideas? Cat's friend Gary the Garibaldi fish might have an idea! Off to the Briny Blue Sea where they meet a variety of creatures in a kelp forest who use the kelp for both food and protection. Back at home they make a picture of the kelp forest for Fish. It's the best present he could ever hope for! Treetop Tom - Nick and Sally are playing when their ball gets caught up high in the branches of a tree. D

Wild Kratts  "Tazzy Chris"  When Martin and Chris assist the Tasmanian Wildlife Service in tagging endangered Tasmanian Devils, they discover that Zach Varmitech has been kidnapping them to create a ferocious new Zachbot. Science Concepts: A healthy ecosystem has both predators and scavengers. Scavengers are animals that eat mostly other dead animals. D

Dialogue for Kids  "Predators"  Joan Cartan-Hansen and her guest scientists will answer questions about predators. Cartan-Hansen will be joined by Gregg Losinski, Regional Conservation Educator, and Jon Rachael, State Wildlife Manager, both from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.G

Rick Steves' Europe  "The Best of West Ireland: Dingle, Galway, and the Aran Islands"  Ireland in the extreme is best experienced on its west coast in Gaeltachts, where the people speak Gaelic and the rugged villages have changed little over the generations. After exploring the rugged and remote Aran Islands, we settle into Galway, dance in a castle at a medieval folk banquet and delve into Ireland in the extreme: Dingle Peninsula. Ringing with traditional music from its rustic pubs, dotted with prehistoric "fairy forts," if you'll fall in love with Ireland, chances are it'll be right here. D

However, when his overbearing boss invites himself to the Perrins' home for a weekend of work, it causes tension in Reggie's marriage and drives him to despair.G
