This Old House  "Bedford Project, Part 12 of 16"  General contractor Tom Silva and master carpenter Norm Abram install the massive decorative timbers in the new family room. Meanwhile, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey shows host Kevin O'Connor the location for the new A/C condenser and how to set it on a prefabricated concrete mounting pad. Then, Norm visits the Parson Capen House in Topsfield, Massachusetts - a house similar to the Bedford house from 1683 that's been largely unaltered over the years. D

Ask This Old House  "Installing a Battery Back-up Sump Pump; Fixing a Rusty Metal Railing"  Plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey travels to Philadelphia to install a battery back-up sump pump. Then Richard, along with host Kevin O'Connor, landscape contractor Roger Cook and general contractor Tom Silva, asks, "What Is It?" Afterward, Tom fixes a rusty metal railing on a set of front steps. And Kevin shares a tip about how to store a wheelbarrow. D

Rough Cut - Woodworking with Tommy Mac  "Sand Shaded Clock"  On this installment of Rough Cut, Tommy takes a look at the art of sand shading, a technique dating back to the ancient Egyptians. He demonstrates how this art form can be uniquely applied to his Sand Shaded Clock project. For the Rough Cut Road Trip, Tommy heads to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, which houses some beautiful examples of sand shading made by John and Thomas Seymour. D

NOVA  "What Darwin Never Knew"  On the 150th anniversary of the publication of Darwin's On the Origin of Species, NOVA reveals scientific breakthroughs that help solve riddles Darwin could not explain. The film travels from the Galapagos Islands to the Arctic, and from the time of the Cambrian explosion of animal forms to today's research labs where scientists are beginning to crack nature's secrets at the genetic level.G

Priceless Antiques Roadshow   Host Fiona Bruce presents some best finds with an international flavor. Specialists share memories of the difficulties of recording shows in Europe and glass expert Andy McConnell remembers a glass artist with a difference.G

Rick Steves' Europe  "Denmark: Beyond Copenhagen"  Rick visits Aarhus with its ruddy affluence, charming open-air museum and well-preserved ancient bog man. Roskilde is impressive with its royal burial church and the best Viking ship museum anywhere.G

The Lawrence Welk Show  "Christmas"  This 1966 Christmas celebration is new to public television. Lawrence makes his singing entrance on "Jingle Bells." Barbara and Bobby are Raggedy Ann and Andy for the "Doll Dance." The Lennon Sisters sing "Star Carol" while JoAnn Castle rocks the house with "Frosty The Snowman."G

Are You Being Served  "Christmas 1981"  Staff members of Grace Brothers decide that the 90th birthday of old Mr. Grace calls for a special celebration. Their idea that a search of the Grace family tree to create a special coat of arms for the old gentleman produces astonishing results!G

Keeping Up Appearances Christmas Specials  "1995"  Hyacinth decides to organize and direct a local pageant titled "Our Town in the Civil War." She also casts herself in the starring role of Queen Henrietta Maria and coerces various members of her family to play assorted Cavaliers and Roundheads. The Church Hall is soon in pandemonium.G

Last of the Summer Wine Christmas Specials  "1979 - and a Dewhurst Up A Fir Tree"  Foggy Dewhurst decides to beat the Christmas rush by shopping for presents in the middle of summer. He is conned by Big Eric, who sells him 100 Christmas trees for less than $50 - a bargain except they are crawling with insects.G

Outnumbered  "Christmas Special 2009"  It's only Boxing Day but Karen has already made a list of New Year resolutions. There is also an onslaught of unsuitable toys, lost pets, and discussions as to whether robbers and/or aliens have stolen Ben's pants.G

It's A Merry Red Green Christmas   Red demonstrates cooking Christmas dinner while Harold writes a letter to Santa. Lodge members put holiday greetings on answering machines. There are recommendations on choosing pets as presents and practical applications for fruitcake.G

Vicar of Dibley 2004 Christmas Special   Everyone in Dibley is determined to celebrate Geraldine's 10th anniversary as the first female vicar of England's most eccentric parish. However, the Christmas carol-writing competition produces the worst rhyming couplets ever written and Geraldine barely manages to head off a plan to have a stripper at the Christmas Eve cocktail party. Other disasters and complications culminate in a most unusual Midnight Mass.G
