"Left by the Ship"
An estimated 50,000 children of Filipina women were fathered out of wedlock by American servicemen who were stationed at the U.S. Subic Bay Naval Base until 1992, when it closed. This film illuminates the limbo in which this generation of Filipino Amerasians find themselves. The documentary follows three of these offspring, now in their early 20s and 30s, as they continue to struggle with discrimination, troubled families, and identity-related issues.G
