Oregon Wine: Grapes of Place   In the 1960s a new breed of pioneers begin arriving in Oregon's Willamette Valley with a dream of producing premium wines - in particular Pinot noir, made with the delicate red grape of Burgundy, France. They persevere in the face of warnings that Western Oregon was too cold and wet for the grapes. Their risky experiment creates a new industry in Oregon and changes the world of wine.G

NOVA  "Building Pharaoh's Ship"  NOVA follows a team of archaeologists and boat builders as they reconstruct the mighty vessel shown on a mysterious carving on the wall of a 3,500-year-old temple built for the female pharaoh Hatshepsut. According to the wall carving, the vessel embarks on a royal expedition to a mysterious land called Punt. Today's adventurers launch their boat into the Red Sea on a modern voyage of discovery.G

Nature  "Echo: An Elephant to Remember"  The matriarch of a much-studied herd of elephants in Africa has died of natural causes at age 65. This retrospective of her life also looks to the herd's future as it grieves her loss while facing Africa's worst recorded drought. Archival footage of watershed moments in Echo's life are combined with interviews, including elephant expert Cynthia Moss, who studied Echo and her herd for nearly 40 years.G
