Knit and Crochet Now!  "Unique Accessories"  Deborah Norville is working with Rohn Strong this week on a couple of very unique projects. First up is the Linetta Hat using Tunisian crochet and then Rohn shows how to use a knitting loom to make the Les Bouquets Shawl. Ellen is over in the stitch corner and will show how to crochet the Crocodile Stitch. D

Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop  "The Transcendent Landscapes of George Inness, Montclair, NJ"  In this program David Dunlop firsts visits the George Inness room at the Montclair Art Museum and explores the evolution of Inness's paintings and his philosophy. George Inness (1825-1894) was inspired by the classical landscape painters, especially the classic 17th century French artist Claude Lorrain, considered the father of landscape painting. David then sets up his easel on the hillside in Montclair, NJ and demonstrates the techniques of Inness, his quest for a union of spirituality and paint, his reliance on ambiguity, his sources of inspiration and his enduring influence in the world of art. D

Chef's Life  "Turnips - The Greens"  Late winter brings "run-up" turnip greens, which Vivian sees as central to her approach to Southern food, capturing both the spirit and the letter of what Chef and the Farmer is all about. Ms. Scarlett helps out by procuring greens from a local produce stand, washing them four times and discussing the how-to of buying and cooking good turnips to satisfy her "Southern people." Vivian downs a "cocktail for courage" as she awaits the arrival of Ben and Karen Barker, her culinary heroes. D

Lidia's Kitchen  "Cocktail Party"  Italians love to celebrate life, family and friends. Lidia teaches how to keep guests feeling happy with a few of her favorite party tricks. My Greek Table with Diane Kochilas  "Ancient Grains for Modern Cooks"  Diane explores the ancient grains that Greek cooks still love to use. A hearty, soul-satisfying breakfast grain called hondros, or cracked wheat, gives a great start to the day. Fresh vegetables, green apples and mint add a pop of freshness to an easy bread salad made with a classic Cretan barley rusk called dako or paximadi. D

New Scandinavian Cooking  "Historical Garden"  Some of Scandinavia's grandest farms can be found around Norway's largest lake, Mjosa. In today's episode Andreas visits one of them, Hovelsrud, where he combines innovation, tradition and world class vegetables. He uses fresh herbs to make an egg-free mayonnaise, combines baked rutabaga and local vendace roe, and makes scones with yellow and red beets. D

Fringe Benefits  "Louisville"  It's all about horses as Katie learns the history of the Kentucky Derby and takes a riding lesson from a local pro. Then we head out in nature to explore one of the largest arboretums and forest preserves in the region - and see the "Kentucky Knobs." Just east of the city, we explore Bardstown, home of "My Old Kentucky Home" and the center of bourbon distilling. D
