Live from the Artists Den  "Mayer Hawthorne"  At the start of this performance at the Grand Ballroom of the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, Hawthorne announces to the invitation-only crowd of 400 that "tonight, the secret word is fun." He and his band, The Country, blaze through two dozen songs, in his updated classic soul style, infused with everything from doo-wop to hip-hop. Wild!  "In The Company of Moose"  Biologist Vic VanBallenberghe has spent more time living with wild moose than anyone in the world. So much time in fact that he was absent for much of the childhood of his only son. Determined to learn more about the father he hardly knows, Vic's son, documentary filmmaker Jonathan VanBallenberghe, chronicles a season of his father's research at Denali National Park in Alaska and tells the story through his film. While capturing the most extensive, amazing, and up-close HD footage of moose ever caught on film and learning about this majestic animal, Jonathan recognizes the significance of Vic's life work, and a gap is bridged between father and son.G

Saving The Ocean  "Shark Reef"  Host Carl Safina travels to Glover's Reef Marine Reserve, a coral atoll in the Central American country of Belize. Accompanied by a team of U.S. researchers, who've been studying the reserve for eight years, Carl catches, tags and releases a wide variety of sharks. In Belize City's fish market, he also visits a shark fin trader, whose trade now threatens sharks worldwide.G

Music's Gonna Get You Through   Henry Butler is not only a virtuoso jazz and blues artist, but also a passionate educator, photographer and advocate for disability rights. Drawing on his New Orleans heritage, extensive music study and experience as a blind black man, Butler founded the Creative Music and Jazz camp and crafted an eclectic curriculum that encouraged students to see art and music as tools for survival. THE MUSIC'S GONNA GET YOU THROUGH tracks the impact of Butler's music and philosophy on a group of blind and visually impaired teens who gather in New Orleans to train with the master at his week-long summer camp.
