Women, War & Peace  "The War We Are Living"  Two Afro-Colombian women fight to hold onto the gold-rich land that has sustained their community through small-scale mining for centuries in the mountainous region of Colombia's Pacific southwest. They are part of a network of female leaders established during Colombia's 40-year civil war, defying paramilitary death threats to remain on the land.G

Participants reveal how eight years of collaborative effort among many interests can culminate in the federal Owyhee Initiative that includes many uses, including designated wilderness.G

Global Voices  "Afghanistan Unveiled"  Filmed by the first-ever team of women video journalists trained in Afghanistan, this film reveals the effects on Afghan women of the Taliban's repressive rule and of the U.S.-sponsored bombing campaign. Leaving Kabul for the first time and traveling to rural regions of the country, the filmmakers present footage of women whose lives have been decimated by recent events. D
