Cahill is a founding editor of Outside Magazine and author of 10 books.G

Sesame Street  "A Prince of a Frog"  There is a princess in distress on Sesame Street! She cannot meet her prince without kissing a frog, but the frog keeps hopping away! Elmo and Abby try to help by learning a little more about frogs on Alan's computer. The first thing they learn is that frogs are amphibians and like to gather in groups and croak together. Abby and Elmo pretend to be croaking frogs to attract the frog. D

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood  "The Dragon Dance/Teacher Harriet's Birthday"  The Dragon Dance: In school, the children are all helping Teacher Harriet with a big art project: creating a dancing dragon! Everyone is eager to finish so the dragon can dance, but they learn that they need to work together so the big project can be finished. Teacher Harriet's Birthday: It's Teacher Harriet's birthday! Mom Tiger helps the children surprise her by decorating the classroom with streamers and making a birthday present while she is gone. The children learn that cooperation is necessary to pull off the surprise. D

The techniques reveal how dust blown from the Sahara fertilizes the Amazon; how a submarine "waterfall" off Antarctica helps drive ocean currents; and how the sun's heating of the southern Atlantic gives birth to a powerful hurricane.G

The Desert Speaks  "The People of Peru's Cloud Forest"  Beginning in Cajamarca, host David Yetman, geologist Dick Yetman and South American archaeological expert Axel Nielsen head out into the colorful city streets in pursuit of authentic and very distinctive South American hats that are almost as tall as they are wide. This quest takes them past local merchant stalls and through Calle de Cuyes, or guinea pig alley, where locals can purchase skinned and fully dressed guinea pigs to eat.G

Ciao Italia  "Taste of Sicily/Sapore Di Sicilia"  Mary Ann recalls her Sicilian ancestry to create Impanata, Baked Pasta Casserole, Sicilian Style. Mary Ann starts with authentic, "O"-shaped Anneletti pasta as the star attraction of this complex production, to which she adds Pork Ragu, Peas and tomato sauce blended together in a creamy rich bechamel sauce and baked until the table is set and guests are invited to enjoy her Sicilian treat. Mangia tutti!. D

Taste of History  "18th Century Animals"  The variety of livestock we see on farms today differs significantly from the ones that were common during the Revolutionary Era. Modern techniques have plumped animals up and induced them to grow much more quickly. But an effort is underway at Colonial Williamsburg to get back to those original breeds. D

Simply Ming  "On The Road with Michael Schlow at Tico"  Buying local and buying fresh are key to great cooking. This week on Simply Ming, Chef Ming Tsai and longtime friend Boston Chef, Michael Schlow, go to Boston City Hall Plaza Farmer's Market for a little inspiration and then head back to Chef Schlow's restaurant, Tico, where they cook up two mouth-watering dishes: Red Tape Steak and a Double Lamb Chop with Pea Shoot-Beet Salad. D

The Jazzy Vegetarian  "It's Soup Time!"  Host Laura Theodore prepares four superstar soup recipes. We begin with "Winter Warming Soup," which makes the perfect meal on a chilly night. Next up, "Creamy Broccoli Soup" is quick to prepare with no cream required. D

Martha Stewart's Cooking School  "Shrimp"  In this episode, Martha offers a primer on a favorite crustacean. She explains which varieties of shrimp to buy and how to store them, plus whether to cook them with or without the shell and how to devein them. Basic cooking techniques result in delicious recipes for shrimp cocktail, an updated version of scampi, a traditional shrimp boil and simple grilled shrimp. D

Austin City Limits  "Raphael Saadiq/Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears"  Saadiq highlights songs from his old-school soul album Stone Rollin'. Lewis and The Honeybears pound out bluesy soul nuggets.G

Sesame Street  "Max The Magician"  Max the Magician magically appears on Sesame Street as Rosita, Big Bird, and Elmo are eating snacks with Chris. Everyone is excited to see some real magic. First, Max takes one scarf out of his pocket and puts it with two other scarves to make three scarves - what was two has become three. D

Dinosaur Train  "An Apatosaurus Adventure/Nature Art"  The Pteranodon kids visit the Jurassic Time Period to meet Apollo Apatosaurus, a huge, long-necked, long-tailed dinosaur who likes adventure. Apollo loves to whip his long tail, and does so as he leads the kids on a pretend adventure to find a hard-to-reach tree with yummy, delicious leaves! Mrs. Pteranodon cleans out the clutter from the family nest and the kids are amazed at the pile of stuff - leaves, flower petals, pieces of wood, and shells. Tiny stops Mom from throwing out all the stuff, determined that she and Buddy, Tiny, and Don will find a use for it all. D

Super Why!  "Jasper's Cowboy Wish"  Howdy Partner! Whyatt and his friends are playing cowboys, but Pig can't join in because he doesn't know what cowboys do. The super readers jump into the tale Jasper's Cowboy Wish and make the acquaintance of a cowpoke named Jasper who's desperate to become a rompin' stompin' cowboy if only he could get the hang of it! When Jasper must use his cowboy skills to save the day, will he be a hero. . D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Thump/Squirreled Away"  Thump - Nick is trying to make his mother a surprise lunch, but she keeps coming into the kitchen! If only there was a way for him to know when she was coming. The Cat takes Nick and Sally to meet his friend Twitch the rabbit. Twitch and her bunnies teach Nick and Sally how to stop, look and listen for danger. D

Wild Kratts  "Build It Beaver"  The Wild Kratts team must lend a hand to help a beaver rebuild its damaged lodge and restore the ecosystem for all the creatures who live there. Science Concepts: Beavers make dams that block the flow of water down a stream. Through building dams, the beaver single-handedly transforms the landscape, creating homes for a variety of wildlife. D

Sara's Weeknight Meals  "Asian Flavors with Dale Talde"  Top Chef contestant and Asian-American restaurateur Dale Talde shows Sara his secret sources in Chinatown for pulled noodles and other ingredients, then they come back to Sara's home kitchen to cook up Pad Thai with Oysters and Bacon and his signature dish, Angry Chicken, spiced like kim chee and marinated in yogurt with lots of potatoes to soak up the sauce. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Heart of England and South Wales"  After King Arthur country at Glastonbury, Rick goes to prehistoric Stonehenge. He meets an eccentric lord in the Cotswolds, and visits an evocative ruined abbey in South Wales.G
