Great American Seafood Cook--Off II   Fires blazed and seafood sizzled as New Orleans hosted the sixth annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off in July 2009. During the Iron Chef-style competition, chefs representing 15 states, including coastal Mississippi, Maine and California, as well as Illinois, West Virginia, Kentucky and Idaho, created dishes using seafood from their home state or from local sustainable fisheries. Quest for the Lost Maya   This program explores archaeological evidence of a previously unknown Mayan society based in the Yucatan Peninsula of southern Mexico. The film surveys their dramatic rise to prominence in the "preclassic era" of the Maya (800-700 BC) as well as new evidence of the collapse of their civilization in the 800-900s AD.G

Secrets of the Dead  "Aztec Massacre"  Throughout recent times, historians have believed that the Spanish Conquistadors, who arrived in Aztec territory in the 15th century, were welcomed as returning light-skinned gods by the Aztecs, who put up little resistance to their conquest. Now, a new discovery outside Mexico City is turning history on its head: more than 550 bodies, many of which show signs of having been mutilated and even eaten. More important, more than 40 of the bodies appear to be European, indicating that the Aztecs not only resisted the invaders, they sacrificed them to their gods, pulling their still-beating hearts from chests and stringing their heads (along with the heads of their horses) on wooden skull racks for public display. Slow Down for Sloths - Nick and Sally are trying to draw a picture of a butterfly but can't get close enough to see it. Cat takes them to meet Onslow the Sloth, who teaches the kids that when you slow down, the world comes to you. D

Curious George  "George and Marco Sound It Out/A Monkey's Duckling"  George and Marco Sound It Out - Nothing can stop George from listening to his favorite band, Lobos de Plata, a Latin band that plays in Endless Park. So when the bandstand is taken down, George goes on a mission with his friend and band-member, 8 year-old Marco, to find a perfect place for the band to play. After a day of checking the acoustics at Pisghetti's, the zoo, and George's lobby, their last hope is the museum. D
