NOVA  "Inside Animal Minds: Who's The Smartest?"  Many scientists believe the secret of animal intelligence lies in relationships. Throughout the animal kingdom, some of the cleverest creatures - including humans - seem to be those who live in complex social groups, like dolphins, elephants and apes. Could the skills required to keep track of friend and foe make animals smarter? Part 3 of 3G

7:00 pm
Design Squad  "Gravity Bikes"  The DESIGN SQUAD teams go head-to-head as they compete to build high-speed gravity bikes for Gravity Sports International champion Tom Whalen. D-Squad Pro File: Gael Force Team 126 from Clinton, Massachusetts, is one of more than 1,300 teams that compete each year at the annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics competition. Teams had just six weeks to design, build and test a robot that raced around a track to move a 40-inch inflatable ball. D

Everyday Edisons  "Up in the Air Tubes"  In this episode we explore the physics of air versus springs in a device the inventor calls "Cardio Air Tubes." The inventor, Greg Bruce, is a bit of an exercise guru; a daily workout, eating right and a lifetime commitment to good health type of guy. Always in search of new and exciting exercise regimens, Greg went first to his shop and then to his gym and what he brought to the casting call was simple, yet very effective: two walking sticks, one in each hand that strengthens the upper body commensurate with the user's ability. D

Your Inner Fish  "Your Inner Monkey"  Our primate progenitors had bodies a lot like those of modern monkeys and spent tens of millions of years living in trees. Is School Enough?   This program examines a new frontier that could reshape education --- the importance of breaking out of the classroom and connecting students into the wider world. This new educational approach encourages young people to make a difference by learning from what they care about most. As one expert puts it, there's a new understanding that school should not just be preparation for life --- but "life itself. D
