Botany of Desire   Based on Michael Pollan's best-selling book, this special embarks on an exploration of the human relationship with the plant world as seen from the plants' point of view. Frances McDormand narrates this program that shows how four familiar species - the apple, the tulip, marijuana and the potato - evolved to satisfy human yearnings for sweetness, beauty, intoxication and control. The program visits Idaho to discuss the commercial growth of the potato, which was originally domesticated in Peru more than 8,000 years ago.G
