Outdoor Idaho  "Trip to the Moon"  One early traveler called it the strangest 75 square miles in North America. Characterized by one of the only continental hot spots in the world, Craters of the Moon encompasses three quarters of a million acres of lava flows, sagebrush, rolling hills... and a few surprises. Part of it is managed by the National Park Service, as a national monument. And it may be as close as any of us will ever come to a trip to the moon.G

His wry commentary on the American scene and his books chronicling his adventures as a "happy eater" have earned him renown as a classic American humorist. Joan Cartan-Hansen talks with Trillin about his work, including his most recent book, Quite Enough of Calvin Trillin: Forty Years of Funny Stuff. Trillin came to Idaho to speak to the Idaho Humanities Council.G
