Stonewall Uprising: American Experience
In 1969, homosexual acts are held to be illegal in every state but Illinois. But on June 28, 1969, something changes in the gay community. When the New York City police raid a Mafia-run gay bar, the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, patrons refuse to be led into paddy wagons, setting off a violent three-day uprising that launches the gay-rights movement. Filmmakers talk with people who were there and feature archival footage in this chronicle of change.G
