The Desert Speaks  "Ancient Secrets of the Galapagos"  The third and final episode in the Galapagos Islands features some of the "newer" islands, which are "only" a few hundred thousand years old. There are plenty of interesting creatures in the waters around these islands, like marine iguanas - the only known iguanas that swim in salt water and can stay underwater for more than an hour - and the Flightless Cormorant - a bird that uses its stubby wings to swim rather than fly. On Isabela Island, the crew visits Darwin's Lake - a saltwater lake - to study flower color and pollination and spends some time in Zodiac boats finding penguins endemic to the islands. D

Dinosaur Train  "Stargazing on the Night Train/Get Into Nature!"  The Pteranodon family rides a special 'Night Train" to another part of the Cretaceous Time Period, where they meet a Troodontid "cousin" of the Conductor's, Sidney Sinovenator, who knows more about the stars than anyone. Sidney takes the family up to his favorite stargazing spot, "Starry Hill," and teaches the kids why the stars seem to move across the night sky. When the kids build their own version of a nest on the beach, below their actual family nest up on the cliff, they get the idea to turn their beach nest into a clubhouse. D

Super Why!  "Around The World Adventure"  With the help of their teacher, Whyatt and his friends have contacted a girl from another school over the computer but they wonder where she lives. The super readers take a trip around the world with a wacky explorer name Wigglesbottom who is on the hunt for his friend Sophie. Will they be able to help Wigglesbottom find his friend, or will they be destined to travel the globe indefinitely? Educational Objectives: To learn about Geography. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Flutter By Butterfly/Pretty In Pink"  Flutter By Butterfly - Sally and Nick are pretending to be butterflies, but they're not very good at it. The Cat takes them to meet Bernadette the Monarch butterfly, who can teach them all about fluttering. Following Bernadette from Milky Weed Meadow to Prickly Pines forest they learn that butterfly wings are used for so much more than just fluttering! Pretty in Pink - Sally and Nick are having fun trying out different moves when the Cat arrives to show them some cool moves of his own. D

Wild Kratts  "The Gecko Effect"  There's a mystery to be solved, as the Wild Kratts team wonders how a Gecko lizard climbs up smooth surfaces and can even climb upside down. The gang uses their Miniaturizer to shrink down and discover it's all about physics: all objects have electrical charges that attract one another and the gecko's marvelous toe pad structure charges so much that they can walk on surfaces as smooth as glass. But in the meantime Zach has stolen their Miniaturizer and now imprisons them in a glass terrarium. D

Outdoor Idaho  "Winter Play"  Idahoans participate in a historic Scottish game on ice; team up with a dog for unusual cross-country ski contests; fly above the snow with a snowkite; drive 4x4s across the snow; and take the plunge for a polar bear swim.G

Dialogue  "Conversations from the Sun Valley Writers' Conference: David Macaulay"  Host Marcia Franklin talks with the creator of books that explain how architectural wonders such as pyramids and cathedrals were built.G

Bluegrass Underground  "The Vespers"  Absolutely one of "alternative Nashville's" biggest buzz bands, the Vespers feature sisters Callie and Phoebe Cryar and brothers Bruno and Taylor Jones. Their hard-to-pin-down sound leads to a fresh and dynamic mixture of folk, rock and Appalachian stomp, a place where banjos battle drums and fuzz-toned guitars shred mountain ballads, all held together by the Cryar sisters' saintly/sinful harmonies. The Huffington Post's Michael Bialas recently dubbed them ". D

Music Voyager  "Shreveport: Road Through Northern Louisiana"  Shreveport, a city with a rich musical history, counts among its myriad musical traditions the African-American sounds of the South, country music, Western swing, rockabilly that predated rock and roll, and the spicy influence of Cajun and Creole music. As guest host, rock star and blues guitar virtuoso Kenny Wayne Shepherd visits Lead Belly's grave for an acoustic jam with local icon Buddy Flett; introduces Maggie Warwick of the famed radio show, The Louisiana Hayride; enjoys a special performance on the stage where Elvis first tasted stardom; sits down with guitar legend James Burton for a demonstration of his pioneering guitar licks; and sits in on a grumble boogie party with the band Dirtfoot. In Lark Rise however, he sets up evening classes for older boys to continue their education and revives the tradition of a "penny reading" at the school. At the reading, Alf tries to impress Laura.G
