"The Day Carl Sandburg Died"
A spokesman on behalf of the American people, Sandburg drew from his own life as the basis for his free-verse poetry. A successful writer and three-time Pulitzer Prize-winner, his books include biographies (most notably of Abraham Lincoln), children's stories and novels. Also known as an entertainer, his legacy fades after his death in 1967. This film examines the life, work and controversies surrounding Sandburg, and the recent resurgence of interest in him.G
