Nature  "Echo: An Elephant to Remember"  The matriarch of a much-studied herd of elephants in Africa has died of natural causes at age 65. This retrospective of her life also looks to the herd's future as it grieves her loss while facing Africa's worst recorded drought. Archival footage of watershed moments in Echo's life are combined with interviews, including elephant expert Cynthia Moss, who studied Echo and her herd for nearly 40 years.G

Frontline  "Inside Japan's Nuclear Meltdown"  FRONTLINE continues its investigation of nuclear safety with an account of the crisis inside the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear complex in March 2011. Eyewitness testimony from key figures tells the story of the workers struggling to reconnect power inside the plant; officials fighting to get information; and the manager who disobeys orders while attempting to protect his workers. The story profiles soldiers, firefighters and families living nearby.G

MI-5   One month after Ros' funeral following her death in an explosion at the end of the eighth season, the team is tracking suspected terrorist Abib on a boat from Tangiers. The boat is stormed by Somalian pirates; the explosives thought to be on the boat are elsewhere; and there is little time to save the intended target. Meanwhile, the team gets a new recruit.G

Inside Out  "The Learning Machine"  With neurons in the brain continually associating one event with another, it's no wonder neuroscientist Michael Merzenich describes what's in our head as "a learning machine." This lesson delves into the multiple ways humans and animals learn, with case studies on classical and operant conditioning, as well as Albert Bandura's work on pro-social observational learning.G

Inside Out  "The Mind's Storehouse"  Is memory reliable? Why is it that we remember where we were on 9/11, but not the day before? These questions and others are tackled by leading memory researchers who discuss topics such as encoding, storage, and retrieval of memory. Demonstrations of short term memory are also presented and renowned researcher, Elizabeth Loftus, explains her role in debunking the phenomenon of repressed memories.G

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood  "Big Bird Comes to Call/Feelings About Contests"  Chef Brockett visits Mister Rogers to say he didn't win a cake decorating contest. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Big Bird from "Sesame Street" arrives amid much excitement and reassures Henrietta that X the Owl will still be her best friend. D

Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps  "Angelina and the Carnival/Angelina Jumps The River"  Angelina and the Carnival - When Marco feels nostalgic about the annual Costa Mousa Carnival, Viki decides to surprise him by bringing the Carnival to Chipping Cheddar. Unfortunately, the day of the festivities falls on Polly's birthday. Angelina is torn between celebrating with her sister and attending the Carnival. D

Bob the Builder  "Part of the Team"  Here Comes Muck - Bob is building a new garage for the team. His design includes roll-up doors for each machine's berth and Muck is particularly thrilled and decides that she wants to be 'first out the door'! Her big opportunity comes when her old garage shed, complete with doors, is left in a field to serve as a sty for Farmer Pickles' pigs. Muck happily goes in and out of it, practicing her entrance. D

8:30 am 
Franny's Feet  "Lost In Mexico/No Place Like Home"  A) Franny is transported to a beach in Mexico, where she meets Georgia, a migrating Canadian goose who has lost her flock. With a little ingenuity and determination, Franny helps reunite the geese. In Franny's Treasures, the audience discovers that Monarch butterflies, humpback whales, and caribou travel to a warmer climate in the wintertime. D

Thomas & Friends  "Special Times"  Surprise Surprise - It's the Winter Holidays on Sodor and Thomas is excited because that means it is party time! However Thomas' friends need help. Percy has a cracked coupling rod, Edward's pistons are popping and Stanley has a faulty firebox. Thomas brings them all to the Steam Works to be fixed. D

Dialogue  "Nuclear Power After Fukushima Daiichi"  Joan Cartan-Hansen talks with John Grossenbacher, the director of the Idaho National Laboratory about what scientists have learned from the Fukushima Daiichi disaster and what might be the future of nuclear power.G

Above Yellowstone   This first-ever aerial tour celebrates Yellowstone's natural wonders and provides a brief contextual history of its geology, Native peoples, wildlife and its current status as a destination for 3.6 million annual visitors. A few of the scenes in the special include: The Lamar Valley, The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Forest Fire, The Geyser Basins and parts of Yellowstone as seen during the flight of a Bald Eagle.G

Barbra Streisand - One Night Only at the Village Vanguard   Streisand returns to her roots of more than 40 years ago when she was honing her craft and discovering her artistry in New York's West Village. The audience at the 2009 concert is packed tightly in the tiny jazz club and includes friends, celebrities, and 74 lucky winners of various online contests. The singer, backed by a jazz quartet, gives them all a lifetime thrill with songs from her album Love Is the Answer and enduring favorites.G

Other illustrious past Phantoms, including Peter Joback and Colm Wilkinson, join forces for a powerful rendition of "Music of the Night."G
