This Old House  "Barrington Project, Part 2 of 10"  Host Kevin O'Connor arrives to find builder Andy Tiplady with the house wide open, his foundation in place and framing underway. The new open floor plan requires structural steel that gets bolted and then welded in place. With the steel installed and high winds already kicking up, Andy and his crew button up the house for the impending bad weather, which turns out to be Hurricane Irene. D

Ask This Old House  "Upgrading a Neglected Urban Patio; Hanging a Heavy Mirror"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook heads to San Francisco to upgrade a neglected urban patio. Then Roger, along with host Kevin O'Connor, general contractor Tom Silva and plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey, asks, "What is it?" Afterward, Tom shows Kevin how to hang a heavy mirror on a wall. D

Growing a Greener World  "Organic Lawn Care (Arlington, VA)"  The impression that lush lawns require high inputs of synthetic chemicals to keep them looking good is a myth. We visit a private estate to see a major test case by the University of Maryland to show that lush green grass is possible and how you can have that lawn of your dreams organically. D

Moyers & Company  "Suppressing The Vote"  The fight against voter fraud is a solution in search of a problem -- documented instances of voter fraud these days are surprisingly few. Nevertheless, since the 2010 midterm elections, new election laws passed by Republican-dominated legislatures in 14 states have sought to limit voter registration or require photo IDs in order to vote -- identification that for many is too expensive or otherwise difficult to obtain. Such laws, according to a recent report from the Brennan Center for Justice "will make it harder for hundreds of thousands of poor Americans to vote. D

William and Mary   As the second season of shows begins, William and Mary are about to be married. William is cooking up a few surprises for Mary for when they come out of the church following the ceremony.G

Outdoor Idaho  "Gold Rush Days and Ghost Towns"  Thousands of gold seekers pour into Idaho Territory in the 1860s constructing instant cities in rugged terrain. This look at the past and present of these towns - some only a memory, others active county seats - includes interviews with descendants of the miners of yesteryear.G

Garrow's Law   Garrow defends two men accused of destroying silk looms in an act of industrial sabotage. With a perilously thin defense, Garrow must persuade a skeptical jury of their innocence. Love and loyalty compete with fear and betrayal in the brutal surroundings of the 18th-century Bailey.G

War  "Pride of Our Nation"  (June 1944-August 1944) On June 6, 1944 (D-Day), 1.5 million Allied troops embark on the invasion of France and succeed in tearing a 45-mile gap in Hitler's Atlantic Wall. Allied progress from there is measured yard-by-dangerous-yard. In the Pacific, Saipan is the costliest Pacific battle to date. Dreaded War Department telegrams arrive on doorsteps at home. By mid-August, the Germans retreat from France. Part 4 of 7G
