Chris Tarrant: Extreme Railways  "Night Train to Patagonia (Argentina)"  Chris travels by train across a thousand mile stretch of Argentina to the heart of Patagonia. In the heyday of its "Belle Epoque" this country boasted one of the largest and finest railways in the world, largely funded and built by the British. As he heads further and further South in his quest to ride the iconic Old Patagonian Express, Chris finds out just how far this once great railway network has fallen. D

Outdoor Idaho  "Idaho Geology, A Convergence of Wonders"  The Gem State's story is written in stone, which reveals the forces that produced a landscape that unites, divides and binds together Idahoans. Geologists Bill Bonnichsen and Marty Godchaux lead a tour through the complexities of the topic. Outdoor enthusiasts play amid unique formations - they ski on sand dunes, kayak through canyons, raft over waterfalls, climb rocky outcroppings, and dive into fossil water. The special includes videos of geologic events and examples gathered over decades.G

Joseph Rosendo's Travelscope  "Taiwan's Penghu Islands"  Taiwan is an island country of 23 million people and the majority of them live in a handful of cities. When they seek to leave their hectic urban life behind they escape to their country's villages, mountains, forests, and islands. Joseph returns to Taiwan to visit the Penghu Archepeligo in the Taiwan Straits, a chain of 64 isles and islets; 20 inhabited, and 50-minutes by air from the capital of Taipei. D
