On this month's Science Trek, host Joan Cartan-Hansen and her guests will answer students' questions about the science behind television. D

Roadtrip Nation  "The Voyage Begins"  Unsure what to do with their lives and seeking wisdom from others, a team of young adults sets off on a cross-country road trip to interview professionals in diverse careers who can provide insight into building a fulfilling life. Ed, a recent college graduate from the small town of Colchester, England, is stagnating in a dead-end job and living with his parents. Determined to branch out, he hopes this trip will give him the confidence to pursue broader possibilities. D

Mike Colameco's Real Food  "Restaurant Gabriel Kreuther"  After cementing his reputation working as Chef de Cuisine at Jean George and then a long stint as the Chef at The Modern, Alsatian born Chef Gabriel Kreuther now runs his own eponymous place on 42nd St., right across from Bryant Park. It's the kind of kitchen that employs loads of cooking techniques and utilizes the best ingredients possible.G

Bare Feet In NYC with Mickela Mallozzi  "Nuyorican Barrios"  The Bronx is not only known as the Borough of Salsa, but also the Borough of Music - Mickela digs deeper into the long-standing Puerto Rican whose influence stretches across all of New York City. D

Mike Colameco's Real Food  "Maison Kayser / Verre De Terre"  Eric Kayser, a fourth generation French baker, opened his first shop in Paris in 1996. Today he has over 100 shops worldwide, with 10 stores in Manhattan. We'll spend a day with him at his Union Square shop. We'll end this show with a visit to Verre de Terre, a restaurant on 14th St. serving great fried chicken paired with an all natural wine list put together by Eben Lillie.G

Mike Colameco's Real Food  "Koreatown"  We'll spend the day with the co-authors of the excellent Koreatown cookbook Deuki Hong and Mott Rodbard. We begin at Deuki's BBQ restaurant, Kang Ho Dong Baekeong, then we shop for ingredients at H Town on 32nd and head to back to his tiny apartment nearby to cook a few recipes from the book.G

America's Test Kitchen from Cook's Illustrated  "Pork Chops and Corn Fritters, Perfected"  Julia and Bridget uncover the secrets to making perfect pan-seared thick-cut boneless pork chops. Tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Julia to a tasting of white wine vinegar, and then test cook Keith Dresser makes Bridget foolproof corn fritters. D

Growing a Greener World  "Gardening in the Desert Southwest (Phoenix, Az)"  To garden successfully in the desert Southwest, it just takes a little local knowledge to master the nuances of growing a productive garden there. In this episode, we explore tips, tricks and unique challenges to mastering the art of gardening in this part of the country. D

Primal Grill with Steven Raichlen  "Gaucho Grill"  Gaucho describes the cowboys of northern Argentina and southern Brazil. These rustic cattle herders developed a simple yet powerful style of grilling over an open wood fire, a tradition still celebrated around Planet Barbecue today. Here are three indispensible gaucho favorites: Chicken roasted in a salt crust, from Uruguay's celebrity grill master, Francis Mallmann; the monster beef ribs that made the reputation of Brazil's famous grill house, Fogo de Chao; and a dessert from Brazil's cattle country, a pineapple you roast on the rotisserie. D

Rudy Maxa's World  "Edinburgh & The Scottish Highlands"  Rudy attends the Edinburgh International Festival - the world's largest arts festival featuring theater, comedy, dance, music, opera, street performance and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tatoo. Then Rudy heads north to the Highlands where he rides the so-called "Harry Potter Train" and visits the Isle of Skye.G
