NOVA  "Ancient Computer"  NOVA follows the detective work required to discover what may be the world's first computer, an unpromising-looking lump of metal found in 1901 in a 2,000-year-old shipwreck. Researchers used data from high-resolution, 360-degree X-ray scans to decipher markings in the corroded bronze fragments to determine that it is an astronomical calculator and eclipse predictor.G

Everyday Edisons  "This Invention Really Sucks! (Your Carpet)"  When inventor, Ken Joyner, brought in his carpet sucker to the casting call, we thought this idea is so good, someone else must have already thought of it! His outrageous prototype had us snickering, but when it actually worked, we were impressed! Our development team used dozens of experimental prototypes and spilled all types of liquids onto countless carpet samples. We were amazed at how well Ken's invention extracted a variety of liquids out of carpet: wine, fruit punch, beet juice, even the liquid generated by our pets. Once our Everyday Edisons Engineering Team perfected a new prototype, our Design and Creative Team got together, spilled some more wine and pondered how to make the product look like and work like something retailers and consumers believed would actually suck, but not suck. Everyday Edisons  "Up in the Air Tubes"  In this episode we explore the physics of air versus springs in a device the inventor calls "Cardio Air Tubes." The inventor, Greg Bruce, is a bit of an exercise guru; a daily workout, eating right and a lifetime commitment to good health type of guy. Always in search of new and exciting exercise regimens, Greg went first to his shop and then to his gym and what he brought to the casting call was simple, yet very effective: two walking sticks, one in each hand that strengthens the upper body commensurate with the user's ability. Eat, Fast and Live Longer with Michael Mosley   With cameras in tow, the British journalist and physician starts his health-science travels across the U.S. by meeting researchers whose work enables him to test a new science-based dietary program that is easy for him to incorporate into normal life. His goal: to live longer, stay younger and lose weight.G
