Shifting Sands: On the Path to Sustainability   For more than a century, North America's giants in manufacturing (US Steel, Standard Oil and Bethlehem Steel) and preservationists battled over a 47-mile stretch of sandy shore along Lake Michigan that contains one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet-the Indiana Dunes region. While the factories provided jobs and contributed to the community's economic growth, they also wiped out a tremendous amount of rare habitat, and polluted the waterways. In SHIFTING SANDS: ON THE PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY, the hour-long documentary takes a look at the decades-long effort to create the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore amid the presence of heavy industry along Lake Michigan. America ReFramed  "Through The Repellent Fence"  Through the Repellent Fence follows the creation of a two-mile long ephemeral art installation by three Native American artists: Raven Chacon, Cristobal Martinez, and Kade L. Twist collectively known as "Postcommodity." The film documents their collaboration as they construct "Repellent Fence," a metaphorical "stitching" together the United States and Mexico. Their work puts "land art in a tribal context," to illuminate a shared Indigenous world-view and the legacy that connects the original people to their land.G

Lost Bird Project   Follow sculptor Todd McGrain's efforts to memorialize five birds - the Great Auk, Carolina Parakeet, Labrador Duck, Passenger Pigeon and Heath Hen - driven to extinction in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The captivating nature documentary follows McGrain and his brother-in-law, Andy, as they embark on a road trip in search of the last-known locations of the birds and seek permission to install McGrain's six-foot-tall bronze sculptures on those sites. Travelling from the tropical swamps of Florida to the rocky coasts of Newfoundland to the shores of Martha's Vineyard, the men spend more than two years scouting locations, talking to park rangers, speaking at town meetings and battling bureaucracy in their effort to gather support for the project.G
