Humble Beauty: Skid Row Artists   HUMBLE BEAUTY documents the ability of art to calm, inspire, ask questions or provide answers, and even help forge entirely new identities. The one-hour documentary follows a group of talented homeless and formerly homeless artists from the area of Los Angeles known as Skid Row, reportedly home to the largest concentration of indigent people in the United States. For four years, the filmmakers chronicled spontaneous moments from the artists' lives, captured intimate interviews and charted the evolution of their artwork. D

Homeless Chorus Speaks   THE HOMELESS CHORUS SPEAKS chronicles the efforts of musicians and homeless advocates Nina Deering and Steph Johnson to bring people off the streets and into a small church where they have formed a community of people who share a love of music. The group practices regularly and performs at venues throughout San Diego. While singing inspirational songs such as "Over the Rainbow" and "We Are Family," their voices soar and the harsh realities of the street evaporate. D

I Remember Better When I Paint   Narrated by screen legend Olivia de Havilland, I REMEMBER BETTER WHEN I PAINT reveals the ways day-care centers, nursing homes and assisted-living facilities are employing creative therapies to treat Alzheimer's patients. This informative documentary offers pivotal new insights about the transformative power of drawing, painting, music and museum visits for those living with Alzheimer's and related memory disorders. Through personal stories and interviews with noted physicians, the film explores the benefits of this approach, including an improved quality of life for the patient and a restored dialogue with their caregivers.
