Chemistry ['kĕ-mə-strē]
The study of the substances of which matter is composed.

Chemistry is the science of change in matter. Chemists study different substances to find out what they are made of and how they're put together. They also study the processes that change matter from one substance to another, such as how iron changes to rust or how living cells change food into energy. From the food we eat to the medicines we take to the fuels we use in our vehicles to the devices we use to play games, odds are chemists have helped make them.
