Dr. Melissa Agoudemos
Melissa Agoudemos, MD, PhD has a special interest in pediatric cardiovascular imaging with a focus on fetal echocardiograms, and works at St. Luke's Children's Hospital. She is passionate about helping families develop an understanding regarding the diagnosis and management of their children's cardiovascular disorders.
While earning her medical degree, Melissa investigated the body's abilities to grow new blood vessels (angiogenesis) and the effects of maternal disease on the cardiovascular health of children.
Dr. Agoudemos has a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Johns Hopkins University in Biomedical Engineering. She then switched paths to go to medical and graduate school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, earning an MD, and a PhD in physiology. Her graduate school work was on the development of new blood vessels. Dr. Agoudemous completed her pediatrics residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Iowa.
Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Agoudemos moved to Boise in 2016. She and her husband have two kids that are 9 and 11 years old, and all love Idaho Public Television.
