Antiques Roadshow is coming to Boise June 29, 2013
Antiques Roadshow, Public Broadcasting Service's (PBS) most-watched ongoing primetime series, is coming to Idaho.
Part adventure, part history lesson, and part treasure hunt, the 10-time Emmy Award-nominated program will be in Boise June 29 at a venue still to be determined. Idaho's capital is one of eight cities Antiques Roadshow will visit on its 2013 summer tour. This June's visit will mark the first time Antiques Roadshow has come to Idaho.
Antiques Roadshow also announced that it has added two stops to its summer tour. "By adding more cities to this year's tour, Roadshow fans will get their fill as we're producing more Roadshows than ever before," says Marsha Bemko, the program's executive producer. "We've expanded to include two additional stops, which means meeting an additional 10,000 guests this summer. With an eight-city tour we'll be treated to even more discoveries of America's stories."
Programs taped during the 2013 summer tour will make up Roadshow's 18th broadcast season on PBS. Like the show's stops at the other seven cities this summer, the Idaho segment will air in three one-hour episodes on consecutive weeks between January-May 2014.
The other cities on the 2013 summer tour are, Detroit, Mich.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Anaheim, Calif.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Baton Rouge, La.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Richmond, Va.
Antiques Roadshow's 2013 tour features local appraisal events at which some of the country's top experts offer free evaluations of antiques and collectibles - revealing the often-surprising history and value of these items.
Admission to Antiques Roadshow events is free, but tickets are required and must be obtained in advance, so download a ticket application now!
A limited number of ticket recipients will be selected at random from all eligible entries. Ticket holders are invited to bring two items for a free verbal approximation of value by experts from the world's leading auction houses, independent appraisers, auctioneers and dealers.
