Education and Idaho Public Television's Mission

Idaho Public Television strives for impact and measures success by the ability to educate and inform, to enlighten and entertain. The statewide system provides:

  • More than 120 hours of first-quality educational children’s programming each week on both the main Idaho channel (digital sub-channel 1) as well as the Learn/Create channel (digital sub-channel 3).
  • A monthly classroom calendar for teachers.
  • Overnight educational programming on weeknights for classroom use or professional development; multilingual programming for early childhood to adult learners.
  • Overnight telecourses on weekends offering college credit.
  • Life-long learning and enrichment opportunities on the Learn/Create Channel (digital sub-channel 3) and the World Channel (digital sub-channel 4).


Idaho Public Television's award-winning production team continues to be recognized regionally, nationally and internationally — with hundreds of national and regional awards, including Emmys, CINE Golden Eagles, New York Festival awards, Worldfest and Telly awards, Society of Professional Journalists awards, a Peabody and many others. Four Over-the-Air Channels

Idaho Public Television has been transmitting four digital channels around the clock, seven days a week, since 2008.
