2008 Primary ElectionThe Idaho Secretary of State's website has primary election results, as well as information about the November general election. The Idaho DebatesFor more than two decades, Idaho Public Television has been Idaho's 'station of record' for candidate debates. This fall (2008), we'll continue that tradition with debates for the statewide general election races. Until then, see what candidates had to say in their primary election debates on our Video Archive page. Candidates are selected for the debates by the League of Women Voters, the Idaho Press Club and Idaho Public Television. Among other criteria, candidates have to show that they have an "active campaign." Lack of evidence of an active campaign, and/or the lack of an opponent, mean that some races will not have a debate. After the DebateThis year, after The Idaho Debates, there's more. This election season Idaho Public Television takes our audience in new directions with "After The Debate." This free-flowing, insightful program immediately follows The Idaho Debates and can only be seen online here at idahoptv.org. Our expert panel includes Dr. Jim Weatherby, professor emeritus Boise State University, political science professor Steve Shaw of Northwest Nazarene University, and Kevin Richert, editorial editor for the Idaho Statesman. Get their take on what was said, and not said, during the debates. Hear more of what you need to know to make your decision when you step into the voting booth. It's perspective you won't get anywhere else and it's only online. View "After the Debate" segments on our Video Archive page. |
