Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting  "Cozy"  Marianne Fons appears as a special guest on this episode that celebrates leftovers, those extra blocks and scraps from previous projects too good to throw away. We feature nap-sized and baby-sized quilts, both as simple and enjoyable as your favorite comfort food. D

There, she learns the ins and outs of their delicate alebrije making process and tastes an outrageously delicious liver and eggs meal prepared for the artists. In her kitchen, those eggs are an inspiration for an Oaxacan-themed breakfast. D

Steven Raichlen's Project Fire  "Brisket 24 / 7"  Brisket is simultaneously the easiest and hardest meat to barbecue. Easy, because it requires only three ingredients: salt, pepper, and wood smoke. Hard, because, unless you master the fire, airflow, and temperature, the stall, the wrap, and the rest, you wind up with a mouthful of misery. D

In his latest travel special, adventurer Richard Bangs sets off for old-world Europe. In RICHARD BANGS' ADVENTURES WITH PURPOSE "Switzerland: Quest for the Sublime," he explores the origins of adventure travel and searches for what philosophers and poets of the past called "the sublime. D
8:30 pm
Lidia's Kitchen  "What's Baking"  With the oven on, Lidia creates sweet and savory dishes her viewers can easily make at home. Gratins are delicious, and she starts with a leek and prosciutto gratin made with gruyere and walnuts; next is roasted chicken with pomegranate, marvelously moist inside and with a crispy, caramelized exterior. While the oven is still on, she bakes crumbly and chewy raspberry and walnut butter cookies for dessert. D
9:00 pm
Cook's Country  "Summer Steak and Salad"  Test cook Christie Morrison makes host Bridget Lancaster the ultimate grilled thick-cut Porterhouse steaks. Then, equipment expert Adam Ried shows host Julia Collin Davison his top pick for paring knives. Next, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Bridget to a tasting of crumbled blue cheese. D

In each park, local guides share stories of the park's history and the natural environment, as host Darley Newman hikes, horseback rides and boats to explore the surroundings. Parks profiled include Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef in Utah, the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina, Canyon de Chelly in Arizona, Kenai Fjords in Alaska, Haleakala National Park on Maui, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Hawaii's Big Island, Cumberland Island in Georgia and Yellowstone in Wyoming.
