Living With Wildfire

Wildfires are a natural part of life in Idaho. But, they're becoming more intense. For the most part, our typical summer fire season is starting sooner and lasting longer. That has caught the attention of fire and climate experts at the University of Idaho who feel our warming climate is adding fuel to an already dangerous situation.

These larger wildfires also prompted NASA and the National Weather Service to study how smoke is impacting the atmosphere in the western United States and around the globe.

Outdoor Idaho examines what has become our new normal, and how we’re all learning to deal with the consequences of living with wildfire.
