IRA Charitable Distributions

Gifts made directly from your IRA to Idaho Public Television count toward your Required Minimum Distribution if you are required to take one (that is, if you reached age 70 ½ before January 1, 2020 or are 72 or older).

You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your Traditional IRA directly to a qualified charity such as IdahoPTV. That way, your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) won't be taxable income, but WILL make a difference.

This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Information you need to provide to your IRA custodian to initiate a charitable rollover directly from your IRA to Idaho Public Television:

Legal name: Friends of Idaho Public Television, Inc.
Mailing address: 1455 N. Orchard St, Boise, ID, 83706
Federal tax ID number: 82-0400218

Please notify us of your intent to make a donation from your IRA, including the amount of the donation and where the check will be coming from, so that we may properly attribute and acknowledge your gift.

To maximize the benefit of your gift, please contact your tax professional or financial advisor.
