January, 2008 – Outdoor Idaho won for Best Series at the annual PBS gathering in Ohio. "A Palouse Paradise" also won for Best Science & Nature program; and "Idaho Getaways" won the Information category. The awards came from NETA, the National Educational Telecommunications Association. WildEarth Guardians petitions for protection of 13 species
On Thursday, WildEarth Guardians filed eight separate petitions with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service seeking protection for 13 species, including a lungless salmander, a New Mexico jumping mouse and a desert tortoise, in an area that spans 12 states and extends into Mexico and Canada.
Montana biologist hopeful about fish population in Bighorn River
Montana and Wyoming often tussle over flows in the Bighorn River, and this year's fish count in the river found fewer, smaller fish, but a biologist with Montana's fish and game department said he's hopeful in that last year, the survey found no younger fish.
