Roadtrip Nation  "The Door's Wide Open"  The final week of the trip begins in New York, where the team sits down with the co-founders of New York on Tech, an organization providing tech-based training to low-income students in Brooklyn. The last leg of the journey takes the Green RV to Boston, Natalie's hometown. After conducting their final interview at MIT, the team reflects on the friendships and lessons they'll take home with them. D

Kitchen Wisdom of Cecilia Chiang  "The Long Walk"  In 1937, the Japanese invaded China and by 1939 they arrived in Beijing, seizing most of the large family compound and with it, Cecilia's idyllic and privileged youth. By 1941 there wasn't enough food for the family so Cecilia and her number five sister (she had nine in total), fled on foot through Japanese occupied territory. They walked more than 1,000 miles and it took almost six months to reach the safety of "Free China. D

He creates an acacia-glazed duck breast with plum puree and fennel salad, while Ming tries to match him with duck pho with sweet potato noodles and Thai herbs. D

Globe Trekker  "Food Hour: Southern China"  Celebrated New Zealand chef Peter Gordon discovers the roots of Cantonese cuisine. Peter's journey takes him north to Lianzhou, the mountain home of the Yao tribe, where he cooks succulent spiced pork. Next, he walks the rice fields of the Pearl River Delta, meets traditional medical doctors in Foshan, cooks up a strength-giving feast for dragon boat racing crews in Guangzhou, shops in the fabled market of Qingping, samples street fare in Chaozhou, visits the tea mountains near An'xi, stops in the glittering city of Xiamen and ends his journey in Daya Bay for simple soul food. Growing a Greener World  "Native and Invasive Plants & Certified Wildlife Habitats"  When overseas travel became possible, exotic plants were common cargo on ships all across the world. Unfortunately, many of those plants proved to be far more aggressive outside of their native range. At the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, we explain why some non-native plants are dangerous, how gardeners can prevent further spread of some of the more aggressive species, and how using the right native plant for a particular space can make gardening easier for people and better for the planet.
