Grannies On Safari  "Varanasi - India's Spiritual Capital & Bangalore - A Commercial Star"  The Grannies make a pilgrimage on bicycle rickshaws to the "Ganga Ma" or Mother Ganges, a place of life and death revered in the Hindu religion. They observe day and evening celebrations, rituals and even participate. They visit a factory famous for Varanasi silk and of course shop! A quick flight to Southern India and to the city of Bangalore, a known major tech metropolis, brought new experiences. D

Primary Sources: Workshops In American History  "Common Sense and the American Revolution: The Power of the Printed Word"  This workshop explores the power and importance of America's first "best-seller." Using the language of ordinary people, Thomas Paine's Common Sense called for revolution, challenging many assumptions about government and the colonies' relationship with England. This workshop contrasts the declarations of local communities with Common Sense to see how support for American independence rose up in the colonies.G

Evolution and Phylogenetics"  The ability to compare DNA sequences from different organisms is refining our perspective on evolution. We're preparing an exciting tailgate menu of sliders and fixins, spicy corn salad, and fruit kabobs. D

Irish Rovers Christmas   THE IRISH ROVERS CHRISTMAS is a new 60-minute Christmas special from the rollicking music icons who have touched three generations of music lovers with their Irish folk songs. At the Medellin Market in Mexico City, Rick gives us an insider's look at how they're made every Saturday and Sunday in a huge copper cauldron, and served up with fresh corn tortillas and crispy chicharron (pork cracklings).
