The Middle Fork of the Salmon River is the gold standard by which other rivers are judged. Each year more than 10,000 folks make the journey. It's a journey into a wilderness, at times restful and serene, at other times dramatic and threatening. But no one leaves the Middle Fork disappointed. This is Idaho at its best.G

Hanford An Oregon Experience   This show looks at the history of the 670-square-mile Hanford Nuclear Reservation. In 1943 a city seemingly sprang up overnight in the south central Washington desert as 45,000 workers came from all over the United States to build the world's first large-scale nuclear reactor as part of the top-secret Manhattan Project.G

How to Travel The World for Free  "Burger, Bike, & Boors"  Michael Wigge sleeps in Montreal free of charge as a couchsurfer. After walking through Ohio, he reaches the tiny village of Berlin, where Amish farmers take him in and let him sleep in their barn. After a grueling tour by bike and bus, Wigge spends several days with homeless man Joseph. D

Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge  "Alaska: Glacier Bay"  Art embarks by boat on a voyage of discovery, encountering dramatic calving glaciers and Sitka spruce forests, breaching orcas and migrating humpbacks, eagles and barnacle-eating bears.G

Globe Trekker  "Around The World - Panamericana: Conquistadors, Aztecs & Revolutions"  Trekker Judith Jones travels south to the lands of ancient empires. In Mexico, she explores the myths and treasures that once drew the Conquistadors to a country rich in natural resources. Following their trail, her first stop is colonial Chihuahua, where Pancho Villa was a Mexican revolutionary leader.G
