Globe Trekker  "Food Hour: Sicily"  Bobby Chinn discovers the cultural and historical influences that define contemporary Sicilian cuisine. Occupations by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, the French and the Spanish have all played their part by introducing techniques and ingredients that have created one of the most layered and intriguing global cuisines. Very closely related to its religious and spiritual life, Sicilian cuisine is above all a reflection of the island's cultural and historical events. D

Outdoor Idaho  "Adventure Idaho"  In this 30-minute version of an OUTDOOR IDAHO special, Idahoans prove why one poll named the Gem State as the best state for adventure. Cameras follow Idahoans into narrow canyons, down cliffs, and up waterfalls.G

Oregon Experience  "Sagebrush Symphony"  Violinist Mary Dodge moves to Burns in 1910 with her civil engineer husband, where she gives lessons. She establishes a youth orchestra called Sagebrush Symphony that tours first eastern Oregon and then to Portland and Salem before World War I. When Dodge and her husband move to Portland, she again gives lessons and starts a youth orchestra, this time determined to build it into a permanent young people's symphony.G

Weekends With Yankee  "Trade"  This week on Weekends with Yankee, we travel to Massachusetts to experience the unique and incredibly colorful tradition of cranberry harvesting, which the Gilmore family of South Carver has been doing for generations. Then bring your appetites as we head to Portland, Maine, where we'll take you inside some of our favorite restaurants in this food lover's paradise. Last but not least, we go off the beaten path in Vermont to explore Greensboro, which Yankee magazine editors call "the best little food town in New England," and visit a cult brewer and a cheese maker that rank among America's best. Now home to more than 20 million souls, Mexico City's museums, monuments, galleries, public celebrations, and vast ethnic mix reflect its past and present glories, and make it Latin America's most vibrant city. Oregon Field Guide  "Sea Otter Specials"  Sea otters lived on Oregon's coast for thousands of years until fur traders wiped them out. But they may be making a comeback.G

Joseph Rosendo's Travelscope  "Peru - The Amazon and Beyond"  Join Joseph as he ships out on a Peruvian Amazon journey from the jungle town of Iquitos, Peru and makes his way through one of the world's wonders. One-fifth of the world's water and oxygen are produced in the Amazon Rainforest and thousands of species of birds, fish, reptiles, mammals and plants as well as hundreds of thousands of people thrive there. With all the pressures from logging and mining interests, it's also a wonder that this natural world still exists. D
