Woodsmith Shop  "Easy-To-Build Shop Storage Cabinet"  The editors of Woodsmith magazine show how to build an inexpensive wall-mounted shop storage cabinet. Pegboard and smooth-sliding doors allow you to maximize your storage capacity in a minimal amount of space, and simple construction techniques make it a snap to build. D

This Old House  "Bedford Project, Part 13 of 16"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook uses old-style bricks made in Massachusetts to create a winding path to the new entry door. He uses half-bricks strategically placed to cheat the joints just enough to make the turns. Inside, wallboard and plaster are up, and the cabinets are going in. D

Ask This Old House  "Preventing Ice Dams; Applying Closed-Cell Spray Foam Insulation in an Attic"  General contractor Tom Silva explains to a homeowner how ice dams form and how to prevent them. He then works with an insulation contractor to apply closed-cell spray foam insulation in an attic. Then Tom, along with host Kevin O'Connor, landscape contractor Roger Cook, and plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey, asks, "What Is It?" Afterward, Richard shares a tip about connecting gutter downspouts. D

Growing a Greener World  "From Seed to Cellar; Living Homegrown Fresh"  With shrinking yards and budgets, the move towards more self-sufficiency and urban homesteading is one of the hottest topics today. We visit one Los Angeles urban homesteader to see how she supplements many daily provisions for her family, right from her own backyard. From raising backyard chickens, growing herbs and vegetables to preserving the bounty, this urban homesteader does it all with approachable and transferrable tips and ideas. D

P. Allen Smith's Garden Home  "Whimsy"  To demonstrate this design principle, Allen introduces some comical additions to the Garden Home Retreat, meets an ironworker who makes gingerbread houses and other lighted displays for Garvan Woodland Gardens. He also offers tips for keeping insects off of the herbs in his one-acre vegetable garden.G

Dialogue  "Calvin Trillin"  Calvin Trillin has been called "perhaps the finest reporter in America." His wry commentary on the American scene and his books chronicling his adventures as a "happy eater" have earned him renown as a classic American humorist. Joan Cartan-Hansen talks with Trillin about his work, including his most recent book, Quite Enough of Calvin Trillin: Forty Years of Funny Stuff. Trillin came to Idaho to speak to the Idaho Humanities Council.G

William and Mary   Widowed father of two William Shawcross (Martin Clunes) falls for midwife Mary (Julie Graham) as soon as he sees her picture at an up-market dating agency. Their first date though reveals a few surprises.G

Outdoor Idaho  "Trip to the Moon"  One early traveler called it the strangest 75 square miles in North America. Characterized by one of the only continental hot spots in the world, Craters of the Moon encompasses three quarters of a million acres of lava flows, sagebrush, rolling hills... and a few surprises. Part of it is managed by the National Park Service, as a national monument. And it may be as close as any of us will ever come to a trip to the moon.G

Great Performances  "From Vienna: The New Year's Celebration 2012"  Legendary stage and screen star Julie Andrews returns as host of this annual event in Vienna's Musikverein with the Vienna Philharmonic and guest conductor Mariss Jansons. A GREAT PERFORMANCES tradition since 1985, the concert includes the festive sounds of Strauss family compositions, showcasing Viennese musical culture.G

Masterpiece Classic  "Downton Abbey - Part 4"  The heir crisis at Downton Abbey takes an unexpected turn. Meanwhile, rumors fly about Mary's virtue. Her sister Sybil takes a risk in her secret political life. Anna unearths Bates' mysterious past. And O'Brien and Thomas plot their exit strategy. Part 4 of 4G

New Tricks  "Buried Treasure"  Brian's dog digs up a skeleton during a walk on the common. A local youth worker shows an unusual amount of interest in the remains. Investigation shows he was interviewed in connection with the disappearance of a Member of Parliament.G

Great Getaways: Rob on the Road   Rob ventures off the coast in search of migrating whales and visits Point Reyes National Seashore.G
