Travelscope  "Guatemala's Semana Santa - Easter Week"  Throughout Guatemala, Easter Week (Semana Santa) is celebrated as the most significant and festive season on every religious and social calendar. Joseph travels to Guatemala City, Antiqua and Lago de Atitlan and discovers that while the observance is rich in Roman Catholic ceremony and tradition, at the same time it leaves room for the popular devotion and beliefs of the indigenous Mayan culture. In addition, the communal creation of hundreds of beautiful alfombras -- flower-strewn, multi-colored "carpets" -- that line the streets in front of the religious processions is something to behold. Ask This Old House  "Refinishing With Spray Paint; Installing a Pre-Finished Wood Floor"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook and host Kevin O'Connor refinish several worn out items using spray paint. Then, general contractor Tom Silva removes wall-to-wall carpet and installs a pre-finished wood floor. And in the loft, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey shows Kevin some new household devices that can be operated "hands-free. D

For Your Home  "Owner's Retreat"  The master suite gets a mellow wash of creamy fabrics, leathers and tiles as Vicki and Sloan create the perfect spa retreat for today's busy homeowners. Walk through showers, a deep soaking tub, ample closets, down filled bedding and soft rugs will make you exclaim, "I have to have that room!". D

Donna Dewberry Show  "New England Seascape"  Donna paints a New England seascape with lighthouse and splashing waves. She uses fabric paints for a decorated shirt, jacket and tote.G

Emphasis will be placed on the colleague support structure; teachers sharing ideas with and getting help from other teachers. D

Death: A Personal Understanding  "Good Death"  Should we help people die, or force them to live? What constitutes a good death? Perspectives from native North American culture and urban medical ethicists provide background as we meet a woman facing death from breast cancer and a young family with a terminally ill infant. The special grief long-term caregivers can fall into is also discussed as we discover the ways that the dying can help to heal the living. D

Invitation to World Literature  "The Thousand and One Nights"  Shahrazad must hold the interest of her despotic husband the sultan with nightly tales, lest she lose her life in the morning. This wellspring of storytelling, circulating from medieval Persia to Egypt to Iraq, like its wily raconteur lives on in many modern adaptations. Art, performance, and film images are employed to show the collection's broad span of influence. D

Invitation to World Literature  "The Epic of Gilgamesh"  The first known human story is that of Gilgamesh, king of Uruk. Images of artifacts from ancient Iraq mix with beautiful illustrations, dance, and costume to tell of the relations between gods and mortals, the search for friendship, love, and immortality. Featured cast members include Assyriologist Ben Foster, comic book illustrator Jim Starlin, and poet and playwright Yusef Komunyakaa. D

To Be Heard   A look at a unique poetry class in the Bronx for at-risk kids where anything could be said or shared. This one-hour documentary is directed and produced by the instructors who run the poetry program; their commitment to their students is palpable, the impact on their students' lives is real and long-lasting.
