The Desert Speaks  "Passions of the Pitaya"  Travel with host David Yetman and Mexican ecologist Alberto Burquez to an area southwest of Guadalajara, Mexico where locals celebrate an annual festival dedicated to tasty Pitaya cactus fruit. Once used as a source of water for natives, the Pitaya has now become a reason to celebrate. In this episode, Yetman journeys to the city of Techaluta to watch workers harvest Pitayas by lamplight, where he places a bet on a midday horserace, and participates in a Pitaya-eating contest. D

First, she teaches host Christopher Kimball how to make the ultimate Old-Fashioned Chicken Noodle Soup. Next, she reveals the test kitchen's secrets for foolproof Pork Loin with Cranberries and Orange. D

Around The House with Matt and Shari  "Adding Embellishments"  Embellishing items around your home is an inexpensive and fun way to make "one of a kind" decorative accents. Matt and Shari start out having fun making a ribbon tassel. Then, Matt works in the garage at a gift wrapping station. D

Sesame Street  "Baby Bear Is Afraid of Bees"  Baby Bear and Abby are near a garden when a bee flies by. Baby Bear is filled with panic because he is afraid of bees! Chris reminds him that they are usually harmless when left alone, but Baby Bear doesn't care; he wants nothing to do with them. Abby suggests granting Baby Bear a wish so that he isn't afraid of bees. D

Dinosaur Train  "The Call of the Wild Corythosaurus/Triceratops For Lunch"  The Call of the Wild Corythosaurus - The family surprises Mom for her birthday with a trip to a concert given by Cory and her family of Corythosaurus, who play music through the crests on their heads. Triceratops for Lunch - Our Pteranodon family eats lunch with their friend Tank Triceratops and discover that he and his family are all plant-eaters, with great leaf-eating teeth and giant appetites!. D

Super Why!  "The Goose and the Golden Eggs"  Red's friends would love to try some of her delicious apples, but Red wants to keep them all for herself! The Super Readers venture into the story of the Goose and the Golden Eggs to visit an old man who is as protective of his special eggs as Red is of her delicious fruit. This old man must learn his lesson, before his golden goose flies the coop! And Red needs to find out how share with her friends. Educational Objectives: To learn about giving to friends, sing the alphabet and identify the letters M-O-R-E. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Rain Game/No Sssweater Is Better"  Rain Game - Sally wants to water the plants in her backyard, but it's hot and sunny outside. They need rain, and lots of it! Good thing the Cat in the Hat knows exactly where to go to get some: the rain forest! With the assistance of some toucans and the singing of howler monkeys, they explore each level of the rain forest, eventually reaching the top and the rain! No SSSweater is Better - Nick's favorite sweater is too small and he doesn't want to change it. The Cat in the Hat has a friend with the exact same problem! He brings them to meet Slyde the snake who shows Nick and Sally how he sheds his skin when it gets too small for him. D

Wild Kratts  "Platypus Cafe"  While kayaking in Australia, Martin and Chris encounter one of the world's most unusual creatures, a platypus mother with her eggs. But unscrupulous endangered animal chef, Gourmand, plans on making the platypus eggs his next delicacy. The Wild Kratts team must use the special "sixth sense" of the platypus to save the eggs. D

Ucook! with Chef Bob   For the first recipe, Chef Bob uses great American grown zucchini blossoms, the flower of the zucchini plant. With that he uses his food processor to make a wonderful Wild American Shrimp mousse to stuff inside the flower itself. Covering the stuffed flower is a white wine pear tomato and opal basil butter sauce that is drizzled over the flower and baked to perfection. D

Rick Steves' Europe  "Provence: Legendary Light, Wind and Wine"  Rick climbs Roman ruins in Nimes, explores a papal palace in Avignon, and savors vivid views immortalized by van Gogh in Arles. He crosses acres of wispy vineyards, explores the Cotes du Rhone and seeks out more wonders of the South of France.G

Live from the Artists Den  "The Fray"  On an early Autumn night, the Angel Orensanz Center, a magnificent landmark in the heart of New York City's Lower East Side, hosted a stunning performance by multi-platinum rockers The Fray. The Denver-based band played 15 songs, a mix of such fan favorites as the Top 10 hits "How to Save a Life," "Over My Head" and "You Found Me," alongside new material from the forthcoming album "Scars and Stories, " including the current hit single, "Heartbeat." The show marked the first time some of these songs were ever played on stage, and concluded with a powerful version of the brand-new ballad "Be Still," performed solo at the piano by singer Isaac Slade. D
