Inside Out  "Thinking and Language"  The most concrete evidence of our ability to think is our use of language. This lesson explores both topics. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman discusses his research in cognitive psychology, and linguist Noam Chomsky, along with others, explains the principles of language acquisition. Susan Curtiss tells the gripping story of "Genie" a young girl who did not learn language due to the neglect and abuse of her parents.G

Inside Out  "The Search for Intelligence"  What is intelligence? Can the standardized exams of today actually measure it? This lesson presents several theories of intelligence, often examined by the researchers who created them. Topics include triarchic theory, multiple intelligences, and emotional intelligence. The nature/nurture influence on intelligence is also explored, as well as the phenomenon of stereotype threat.G

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood  "Mister Rogers Talks About Pets"  In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Ana Platypus wants a pet for her birthday that she can hug and love. The Neighbors have very definite ideas about what kind of pet she should have. Bob Trow brings his dog, Barney, to meet Mister Rogers before leaving him overnight. D

Curious George  "The All-Animal Recycled Band/The Times of Sand"  George recruits his friends to play in a band. Later, George builds a sand castle at the beach.G

Wild Kratts  "Mimic"  While exploring why some animals mimic the looks of others, Martin and Chris encounter a cheetah cub and its mom. But before they know it, evil fashion designer, Donita Donata, 'cat-naps' the startled mom right in front of their eyes. The Wild Kratts team springs into action on a rescue mission before Donita adds the momma cheetah to her new fall line. D

Peep and the Big Wide World/Pocoyo  "Night Light/Sounds Like..../Pocoyo - Big Scary Slide"  Afraid that the sun has forgotten to rise, Peep and Quack are relieved when they discover a flashlight. Peep and Chirp get lost, but use a range of familiar-and annoying!-sounds to find their way home. Then, there's lots of new exciting playground rides in Pocoyoland including one huge daring slide. D

Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!  "Trees Company/Now You See Me"  Trees Company - Sally and Nick are playing up in their treehouse when Nick's mom calls them for lunch. Nick wonders what it would be like to stay up in that tree all the time! The Cat in the Hat knows! Or at least he has friends that do. In Jimmer Jammer Jungle the kids learn how different animals spend their entire lives in trees. D

Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps  "Angelina's Indian Lunchtime/Angelina, Az, and Cheezy Z"  Angelina's Indian Lunchtime - Marco wants to perform the Indian epic, the Ramayana, for the school. But his friends want to perform "Mouselina." However, the mouselings learn the story of the Ramayana and are inspired. D

Bob the Builder  "Having Fun"  Muck's Beach Tower - It's a day at the beach and Muck decides to build a castle! Bob realizes that the lifeguard tower needs a foundation made out of boulders so he calls Muck for help. Muck is determined to do both her job and build the castle. Muck mistakenly thinks she must have put her extra boulders in the lifeguard tower foundation and so takes some out to build her castle with. D

8:30 am 
Franny's Feet  "The Fais Do Do/A Stand Out Performance"  Franny travels to Louisiana, where she meets a shy alligator named Zydeco. With Franny's help, Zydeco overcomes his fears, attends the Fais Do Do party, and plays the spoons for the delighted guests. In Franny's Treasures, Franny and Bobby prompt the audience to identify sounds made by ordinary objects like pencils, pots, and spoons. D

Thomas & Friends  "Being Useful"  Kevin the Steamie - Kevin decides that he wants to be able to shunt like a Steamie so he can join in a game of Bish, Bash, Bosh with Thomas and Percy. The game is about shunting oil drums. While Kevin is practicing his shunting, he causes chaos in the Steam Works. D

Dialogue  "James McPherson"  James McPherson is one of America's greatest Civil War historians. McPherson's Pulitzer Prize winning writing captures the drama of this era and his latest book, "Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief," gives new insight into Abraham Lincoln's remarkable skill as a military leader. Joan Cartan-Hansen talks with McPherson about Lincoln and why we are still fighting over some of the same issues we thrashed out in the Civil War 150 years ago.G

Judy Garland: Duets   The incomparable Judy Garland collaborates with a who's who of top performers from the 1960s to deliver a non-stop lineup of classic Garland hits. Culled from her 1963-64 TV show, these full-performance duets feature the likes of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Lena Horne, Bobby Darin, Mel Torme, Jack Jones, Ethel Merman, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee and Liza Minelli.G

Making War Horse   This film reveals the theatrical collaboration that creates a Tony Award-winning play based on Michael Morpurgo's children's novel about World War I. Cameras capture the innovators at Handspring Puppet Company, creating techniques to bring a lifelike horse to the stage for the drama of individual people and animals caught up in the war.G

Above Yellowstone   This first-ever aerial tour celebrates Yellowstone's natural wonders and provides a brief contextual history of its geology, Native peoples, wildlife and its current status as a destination for 3.6 million annual visitors. A few of the scenes in the special include: The Lamar Valley, The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Forest Fire, The Geyser Basins and parts of Yellowstone as seen during the flight of a Bald Eagle.G

Moyers & Company  "Crony Capitalism"  Bill Moyers, who returned to public television in January, is joined weekly by a range of scholars, artists, activists, scientists, philosophers and newsmakers for timely conversations about life and the state of American democracy.G

Idaho: An Aerial Tapestry   Swooping over the Idaho landscape, this eagle-eye view of the state travels north to south and east to west. The film floats above the Snake River from its origin in Wyoming through Hells Canyon to Lewiston. The flying camera records major lakes: Pend Oreille, Priest, Coeur d'Alene and Bear. The flight soars across mountains and glides through desert canyons on this geologic tour of the state.G

Outdoor Idaho  "Salmon River Lodges and Legacies"  This special travels the Salmon River, stopping each night at a historic lodge to meet the people, who continue in the footsteps of hearty pioneers in the wild heart of Idaho. Each stop reveals a rich history. Rafters, guides, boat operators and residents all reveal how they are drawn to the river repeatedly - or permanently.G

Downton Abbey - Behind The Drama   This MASTERPIECE special goes behind the scenes of the popular MASTERPIECE CLASSIC drama to review the storylines of the first two seasons about the people who live, and work, in an English manor house in the early 20th century with pivotal moments highlighted. Writer Julian Fellowes and the actors who bring Downton inhabitants to life provide insight into the characters of the series.G

Story of the Costume Drama: The Greatest Stories Ever Told   Focusing on the great stories that enthralled England and the world, this look at the British costume drama genre features clips and interviews with the stars and with those who worked behind the camera. Narrator Keely Hawes played Lady Agnes Holland in the 2010 "Upstairs Downstairs" series as well as Alex Drame in ASHES TO ASHES. The film draws from 50 years of the genre and shows how the genre has changed across the decades.G

Il Volo Takes Flight   The tenor trio of Italian teenage heartthrobs - Piero Barone, Ignazio Bochetto and Gianluca Ginoble - put their hearts and soaring voices into this special filmed at Detroit's Opera House last October. They showcase their vocal talent and interpretive gift for music on their versions of "O Sole Mio," "Il Mondo" and a medley of Ennio Morricone songs from film soundtracks. They are backed by a 49-piece orchestra and five-piece rhythm section. They welcome guest Pia Toscano, a favorite contestant from "American Idol's" season 10, to the stage.G
